"Dave" says a shocked woman standing in the doorway "you're awake" she says with a face that says that she can't believe what she's seeing
she quickly turns around and sprints out "dear come quick, it's Dave, he's awake"
"who was that, why did she react like that and why didn't she seem to be able to see you" Dave asked the AI, not knowing who else to turn to
"based on the fact that we are in a room that she has access to and the fact she said dear, the data points at her being your mother and that you are her son"
"as for the reason she reacted like that it is most likely that the original owner of this body must have been in some sort of accident prior to your awakening in this body, based on stories you have read in the past this seems to point to the fact that the original spirit in this body ended up dying due to this accident and that your soul somehow took its place"
"as for why she didn't react to me, it stands to reason that you are the only person who is able to percieve or hear me due to our connection"
after listening to the AI's theory that seemed to make sense, minus the fact that the second statement was based on fantasy Dave heard the sound of two pairs of feet running towards his room
"Dave" shouts a man as he bursts into the room, looking at the young boy in the bed, seeing him sitting up tears welled up in his eyes as the woman next to him is already sobbing
"you're awake, you're really awake" says the man, a smile surfacing on his face as he slowly reaches out, behaving as if Dave would break if he touched him to hard as he cupped the young boys face "thank the gods we thought we lost you" he says shaking
"sorry who are you two, and where am I" Dave says, not knowing what was going on and his confusion and curiosity winning out over his fear of being in an unkown world with unkown people looking at him as if he had performed some sort of a miracle
the young woman cuts in "Dave, it's us, your parents, I'm your mom Sapphire and and this is your father Richard, don't you remember us" she says with a trembling voice
"dear it's understandable, he was hit by a bolt of lightning, it's a miracle he's still alive and woke up this quickly, we should be thankful a bit of memory loss is the only thing that has happened to him" the man Richard says before turning to Dave
"your mother is right, we are your parents, and all you need to know is that were you are right now is a safe place where we won't let anything happen to you" he says before bringing Dave into a strong hug "never again" he whispers as Dave feels small tear drops splashing onto his back
"now, you get some rest, you may be awake but you still need to recover, your mother will make you some food while i go find someone to check on you" he says standing up, Dave's mother still weeping slightly behind him
"it's good to have you back son" he says before walking out of the door
"you wait here honey, i'll make you some nutricious food to help you recover faster" Sapphire hugs Dave tightly as if afraid to lose him, still trembling "please don't ever scare me like that again" she manages to whisper before standing up, wiping the tears from her eyes and smiling at Dave as she left the room, closing the door gently behind her
