The whole class reconvened after they had all got changed into simple gym clothes consisting of a simple shirt and gym shorts or track suit bottoms depending on what the person decided to wear
"All right everyone, this class will be split into 3 parts, the first part will be performing basic magic spells so that everyone can try out how it feels to cast a magical spell" declared the teacher
"I've cast more spells than some of these peasants have ever seen" sneered Grady "what's the second part of the lesson, I hope it's not something just as boring" his friends snickering as he spoke
"The second part of the lesson will consist of improving your stamina, this part will be especially important for people like you Grady who barely managed to pass the fitness test" replied the teacher, him not being the kind of person who will let people who think that his lessons are a waste of time go unpunished, his words causing people to have to stifle their laughs with Azura not even bothering to and brazenly smiling at him, enjoying seeing him be taken down a peg for once
"Fine, unlike these commoners who have to work for things I never did and yet I still managed to outperform most of them, seems like I must be a geneous who doesn't need as much training as they do" Grady retorted trying to build himself back up
"Sure you are, the fact that you had to use up loads of your magic to be able to even finish in time is obviously evidence of a genius" mocked Azura
"YOU... argh" shouted Grady, unable to go against her both because her status out ranked his and that she was more powerful that him in both magic and physical ability
"If you are quite finished mr Gales the final part of the lesson will be once you run out of stamina to meditate in order to recover your stamina and magical energy, now then, we shall begin the lesson" stated the teacher as he used a simple spell to pass out sheets of paper with all of the different magical spells written on them "as you can see, all of the spells are listed here and that is because all magicians are able to use all types of spells, the reason you were sorted into different house based on your natural element is because you will find it easier to use magic of your element, for example ms Inferno would have to use multiple times more magical energy in order to use a water type spell than she would have to in order to use a fire type spell, and while she would also have to use more magic for a wind spell than a fire spell it would be less than what would be required for a water spell due to fire and water countering each other, this goes to show that although strong wizards can use other types of spells they chose not to"
"Hey Gen, do you think the system would have the same type of restrictions" Dave asked quietly
"Unlikely, you have created things that could be considered plant magic or steel magic going by the instructors words and neither of them seemed to cost different amounts based on what you are generating meaning that even though you are classified as a lightning element magician you can technically be classified as an all element magician" Gen answered
"Cool, I hope I get some achievements for casting magic, it seems like the kind of thing I would get at least one for" Dave thought excitedly
"Now then, targets appear" stated the teacher, plants growing out of the ground in the shape of poles with circular targets on top of them "during this lesson you are only to aim for the targets, if I see anyone not aiming for the targets you will be in for detetion do I make myself clear?" he declared
"Yes sir" replied the class in unison
"Good" he responded, a chair made of stone appearing beneath him "then you may begin" taking a seat
"Fire ball"
"Stone bullet"
"Water coalesce into my hand and strike the target that I see before me"
Varying spells started to fly out with different levels of power and accuracy, some hitting the targets but barely making a scratch, others that destroyed the targets but the target being about 5 meters to the left or right from the ones that they were aiming for
"Pathetic" scoffed Grady as he crossed his arms "wind lance" he stated confidently, a spear of wind condensing in front of him "go" the wind shooting forward much quicker than anything else seen before and piercing straight through the target and continuing into the distance hitting a tree and leaving a mark on the trunk
"Woah" exclaimed the class in amazement, Grady drinking in the stunned looks that they were giving him
"As expected of Grady" celebrated Patrick
"Are you done showing off" huffed Azura, creating a tiny fireball in her hand while closing her eyes and then firing it at the target without saying a single word, hitting it dead center and destroying the target, turning it to ash "anyone can make an overly powerful spell if they pour in as much magic as you did, this is training, not your personal circus to show off" she stated having shown the level of control without making a show of it before focusing on trying to repeat the same thing on another target to improve her control further
"If it weren't for your family being better than mine" Grady snarled through gritted teeth before his gaze landed on Dave and his eyes lit up "you say that but it looks like your friend here can't even pull off the most basic of spells, look at him he's just standing there muttering something, seems like her doesn't even have the power to pull off one sp-"
"Generate, thunderbolt"
Suddenly something shot forth from in front of Dave, penetrating the target he was aiming for and blowing it apart before continuing further, hitting a tree in the same way as Grady but even that didn't stop it as it continued through 4 more trees before leaving a bigger indent in the fifth tree than Grady left in the tree he had hit
All of a sudden everyone looked from the path of destruction that Dave had caused back to Dave himself "erm... oops" Dave said guiltily as one of the trees collapsed, taking out Grady's damaged tree with it.
