Chapter 171 - Chapter 190: The Katana Stutter and the Infinite Salvage

The transition from the high-stakes warehouse confrontation in the Works back to the quiet, data-heavy rhythm of the Jedi Archives was a localized sociological relief that Revan Shan met with a velvet academic duster, a bottomless tin of lemon candies, and a very particular brand of 11th-Doctor-esque investigative manic energy. As the seventh month of 27 BBY ticked over into the eighth, the Maverick Master—biologically 128 years old but possessing the cheeky, unlined face of a twenty-three-year-old—decided that if the Republic was going to lose its most expensive fleet to a "technical stutter," he would be the one to provide the ultimate salvage audit.

Revan sat in his Sovereign's Command Chair in the deepest sub-level of the Temple Archives. Calculus, the orange patriarch Loth-cat, was currently auditing the structural integrity of Revan's academic hood, while Theorem was perched on a nearby shelf, sensing the rhythmic frustration of the archivists who couldn't find the data Revan had already "shushed" into his Infinite Holocron.

"You see, Cortana," Revan murmured, his voice a dry, rhythmic rasp. "According to my studies in Galactic History and Advanced Archaeology, the Republic has a remarkably untidy habit of losing things. Take the Katana Fleet. Two hundred Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers, lost because of a localized brain-rot in the crew and a 'slave circuit' that worked a bit too well. It's a 100% failure of fail-safes."

I. The Engineering Audit: Rebuilding the Eye

The first month of this new pursuit (Month 7) was dedicated to the Architecture of Discovery. Revan didn't just buy new equipment; according to his heart, old junk was always more interesting. He gathered several dozen discarded Arakyd viper probe droids and decommissioned long-range sensors from the Temple's scrap heaps.

Utilizing Mechu-deru and his expertise in Kyber-Quantum Informatics, Revan dismantled them down to the last circuit.

"HK, stop looking at the self-destruct mechanisms with such affection," Revan sassed as he soldered a Kyber-Cyan emitter into the probe's primary data-core. "We aren't building bombs. We're building the most efficient search-party in the history of the Unknown Regions."

"Statement: Master, I find the lack of explosive variables in this technical audit to be statistically depressing," HK-47 whirred. "However, I have calculated that these probes are now 114% more likely to detect organic distress signals, which may lead to potential liquidations later."

> The Salvage Search Vector (\Omega_{s}):

> By his internal audit, Revan recalibrated the probes to scan for the specific "Slave Circuit Pulse" used by Rendili StarDrive. He upgraded the internals to include Beskar-alloy shielding for the sensor arrays, allowing them to withstand the high-frequency radiation of the Unknown Regions' edge.

II. Deployment: The Ghost in the Void

In the eighth and ninth months, Revan took the Black Pearl out for a series of "Jump-Snapping" deployments. He ghosted past the Republic border patrols using the Automatic Stealth Generator, dropping his custom probes at strategic gravity anchors and lost hyperspace junctions.

"Right then, Eleven," Revan chirped as the Black Pearl exited a micro-jump on the edge of the galactic rim. "According to my 1st Doctorate in Theoretical Physics, space is only 'empty' if you aren't looking at the right frequency. Release the nets."

One by one, the probes vanished into the dark, silent and invisible. They were programmed with a new AI—a sub-logic of Cortana—to re-engineer the slave circuits of the Katana Fleet the moment they were found. Revan didn't want a fleet he had to crew; he wanted a fleet that could think for itself.

"Master," Cortana reported, her holographic form a serene blue. "The digital net is 94% deployed. If the Katana Fleet is still vibrating in this sector, we will have the receipts in 30 to 60 days."

III. The Temple Audit: Lemon Candies and Logic

While his probes did the heavy lifting, Revan returned to the Temple to "annoy" the Council. He spent his afternoons walking through the gardens and archives, passing out Naboo-spice lemon candies to stressed-out Padawans and grumpy Masters.

"Master Windu," Revan sassed, handing the stone-faced Master a yellow candy during a hallway pass. "According to my audit of your current posture, you are suffering from a localized 12% increase in 'Grumpiness.' This candy is 100% efficient at logic-resetting. Try to be nice."

Mace looked at the candy as if it were a thermal detonator. "Master Shan, your eccentricities are... becoming a rhythmic stutter in Temple discipline."

"Good!" Revan laughed, winking at a passing Knight Jaro Tapal. "Discipline is just a way to make the math look tidy. I prefer a bit of chaos in the margins."

IV. The Stress Audit: High-Velocity Joyrides

Whenever the academic weight of his research into Advanced Macro-Sociological Engineering became too heavy, Revan retreated to the hangar. He initiated a "Orderly Rotation" of younglings, taking them for high-velocity audits of the Coruscant skyline.

Revan boarded the Star-Sass, engaging the stealth array. The X-Wing, a weave of Beskar/Phrik/Cortosis, vanished from CSF (Coruscant Security Force) scanners.

"Hold on, little one!" Revan laughed to the young Togruta initiate in the co-pilot seat. "According to the physics of joy, we are about to outrun the speed of boredom!"

He pushed the sublight engines to 2700 KPH, performing a series of "Zero-G Snap-Rolls" around the Senate's spire-tips. He teased the planetary security droids, appearing on their scanners for a micro-second—just long enough for them to start an inquiry—before vanishing again. It was 100% untidy, remarkably fast, and the most fun the younglings had ever had in their "Nice" lives.

V. The Sovereign Ledger: The Trillion-Credit Long

Late in the tenth month, Revan convened a secure meeting with his financial trio: Kaelen, Vara, and Jax.

"Status check on the 'Ten-Year Long'," Revan commanded, sipping a 'Vintage' spice-latte.

"Master Shan," Jax reported, his voice vibrating with professional awe. "The dividend payout from the Naboo reconstruction contracts has been cleared. Following your order, I have increased the initial margin for our military-industrial long position to 30 Billion Credits."

| Variable | Status | Current Valuation |

|---|---|---|

| Initial Margin | 30 Billion Credits | 200x Leverage |

| Collateral | 21.5 Billion Credits | Liquid / Shell Accounts |

| Position Value | 6.0 Trillion Credits | Projected 21 BBY |

"Tidy," Revan grinned. "I'm not trying to own the battlefield, Jax. I'm just making sure the 96% have a bank account that doesn't stutter when the shadow moves. According to my heart, we're just building a very expensive insurance policy for the light. Just for the lolz."

The Sovereign's Nap: End of Month 10, 27 BBY

The tenth month concluded with Revan slumped in his Sovereign's Command Chair aboard the Black Pearl. Calculus was asleep on his lap, acting as a rhythmic weighted blanket, and Theorem was curled around his feet.

"Status, Cortana," Revan whispered into the salty air of the cabin.

"The Katana probes are reporting a 12% probability hit on a derelict signal in the Outer Rim," Cortana reported. "Master Sifo-Dyas is 100% integrated into his new training role. Asajj Ventress has completed her first month of 'Kindness Logic' training. And Master... Chancellor Palpatine has been seen auditing the 'Emergency Powers' archives in the Senate. He is 55 years old."

"Let him audit the rules," Revan yawned, the chair reclining to the Calculated Nap Angle. "Adventure is the journey, D6. And 27 BBY is currently a masterpiece of probe-deployment, joyrides, and billion-credit dividends. Try to be nice, Month 11. I have a fleet to find and a Sith to keep trolling."

He closed his eyes. The Maverick was 128, the books were balanced in secret, and for the first time in history, the "Ghost Fleet" of the Republic had a new Auditor looking for its keys.
