Chapter 20 - "you are still duplicate"!!!!

One day when momo was not at home due to office work and aditya came home by excuse of meeting Ayaan , he came Ayaan opened the door when he saw aditya and his mood flips down suddenly,The moment Aditya stepped into the house, Ayaan already felt peace leaving his soul.

Ayaan opened the door halfway, looked at him for three seconds straight, then sighed like life had personally betrayed him.

"What happened to your face?" Aditya asked casually while walking in. "You look like you saw a tax notice."

"What are you doing here?" Ayaan asked suspiciously.

Aditya placed a hand dramatically over his chest. "Wow. Such disrespect. Can't a friend visit another friend?"

Ayaan already knew this man never visited anybody without hidden intentions. But unfortunately society had invented manners, so he stepped aside and let him enter.

The moment Aarshi saw Aditya from the hallway, she immediately vanished into her room like a frightened cat avoiding guests.

Meanwhile, Aditya sat in the hall trying every possible topic to start a conversation.

"So… weather?"

Silence.

"College?"

Silence.

"You ever think pigeons judge humans?"

Ayaan stared at him blankly. "No."

The atmosphere was so awkward even the wall clock sounded uncomfortable.

An entire hour passed.

Finally Aditya gave up pretending and asked directly, "Where's Aarshi?"

Ayaan didn't even look up from his phone. "Obviously in her room."

Aditya leaned back dramatically. "You people are so antisocial."

Then suddenly he snapped his fingers. "I'll bring drinks. We should all sit together."

At first Ayaan refused because his survival instincts were screaming at him. But after ten seconds of staring at Aditya's fake innocent face, he reluctantly agreed.

Ayaan called Aarshi outside.

She walked into the hall carefully, saw Aditya still sitting there, and instantly became formal like a student meeting the principal unexpectedly.

Ayaan brought glasses while Aditya poured juice for everyone.

Aarshi stared at the glass suspiciously like it contained poison from a medieval kingdom.

"I don't want it," she said carefully.

Ayaan looked at her calmly for a moment, silently assuring her that everything was fine.

She trusted him.

Big mistake.

They started drinking.

After one sip, Aarshi frowned immediately.

"This tastes bitter."

"It's normal juice," Ayaan replied casually after tasting his own.

Aarshi looked confused. "Maybe my taste buds died."

And then she drank the entire thing.

The universe clapped slowly.

A few minutes later she quietly returned to her room while Aditya tried suspiciously hard to stop her.

"Let her rest," Ayaan said coldly.

Aditya backed off, pretending innocence again.

But the strange thing was — he still refused to leave.

It was already two in the afternoon.

Ayaan even offered lunch.

Aditya refused and stayed glued to the sofa like an unpaid villain in a crime movie.

Ayaan thougbtabkut and aarshi and

Eventually he wandered toward Aarshi's room and knocked.

No response.

He knocked again.

Still nothing.

Finally he opened the door slightly—

—and froze.

Aarshi was lying half on the bed and half on the floor like a confused caterpillar trying to evolve incorrectly.

One arm was hanging dramatically. Her hair was everywhere. Her cheeks were bright red and she looked suspiciously sweaty.

Ayaan blinked slowly.

"What in the National Geographic is this?"

He tried waking her up gently.

"Aarshi?"

No response.

He tapped her cheek lightly.

Suddenly—

she burst into laughter.

Not normal laughter.

Absolute unhinged goblin laughter.

Ayaan nearly jumped backwards. Ayaan tried to help her, the moment Aarshi tried standing up with his help, she collapsed directly into his arms while laughing like somebody told her the funniest joke in human history.

Ayaan stared at her in horror.

"…Why are you vibrating?"

Aarshi pointed at absolutely nothing and wheezed harder.

Ayaan carefully placed her on the bed and walked outside trying to process the situation like a stressed father of three.

Then he looked at Aditya with terrifying calmness.

"Have you done something to her?"

Aditya acted offended immediately. "What? No!"

Ayaan stepped closer. "Tell me the truth."

"What can I even do when you're around all the time?"

Before Ayaan could threaten him further—

Aarshi suddenly appeared in the hallway.

Smiling.

No — grinning.

Like a drunk fairy who escaped from another dimension.

She walked sideways for absolutely no reason.

Ayaan stared. "…Oh no."

Aarshi pointed proudly at the ceiling fan. "Why is it rotating so confidently?"

Aditya immediately turned away laughing.

Ayaan grabbed her shoulders gently. "Go back to your room."

Aarshi dramatically threw his hands away. "No. Society is stopping my freedom."

"What freedom?!"

"I don't know but it sounds important."

Ayaan dropped her onto the sofa and immediately turned toward Aditya.

"What did you mix in that juice?"

Aditya finally cracked.

"…Just a little alcohol."

Ayaan went silent.

Deadly silent.

Aditya raised both hands defensively. "I just wanted to test whether she could handle it!"

"You absolute idiot—"

Meanwhile Aarshi was touching Ayaan's sleeve with deep concentration.

"Ayaan."

"What."

"You're shaped like responsibility."

"…What does that even mean?"

She leaned closer dramatically. "You're also cute."

Aditya nearly died laughing.

"And your face," Aarshi continued seriously, "looks like a disappointed math teacher."

Ayaan closed his eyes slowly. "I deserve this."

Trying to end the disaster, he lifted her into his arms to take her back to her room.

Unfortunately Aarshi suddenly became emotionally attached to gravity.

She squirmed dramatically. "PUT ME DOWN. I FEEL LIKE A FLY."

"You are not a fly."

"I'm spiritually airborne."

He placed her back onto the sofa for two seconds just to call Momo outside and explain the catastrophe.

Ten minutes later he returned—

—and stopped walking entirely.

Aarshi was upside down on the sofa.

Literally upside down.

Her legs rested over the backrest while her hair nearly touched the floor.

And she was peacefully eating chips in that position.

Ayaan stared blankly.

"…Why."

Aarshi slowly turned her head toward him. "The blood circulation feels expensive."

"That sentence makes no sense."

Nearby, Aditya was laughing so hard he almost dropped his phone.

"She's been like this for ten minutes," Aditya wheezed. "She offered me chips upside down."

Aarshi lifted one chip toward Ayaan dramatically. "Want one?"

"You look possessed."

She gasped. "That's rude. I'm emotional."

"You're upside down."

"Emotionally upside down."

Aditya slapped the armrest laughing like a broken engine.

Ayaan walked over and grabbed her ankle lightly. "Get down before you break your neck."

Instead of obeying, Aarshi narrowed her eyes at him seriously.

"Ayaan."

"What now?"

"There's two of you."

"I'm standing still."

"You duplicated."

Aditya pointed proudly at himself. "See? Even she knows he's annoying enough for two people."

Without looking, Ayaan threw a cushion toward him.

Unfortunately—

the cushion smacked directly into Aarshi's face.

Silence.

She slowly lowered the cushion and whispered dramatically:

"…The sofa attacked me."

Aditya collapsed laughing.

Ayaan rubbed his forehead. "I'm surrounded by failures."

Suddenly Aarshi tried sitting up too quickly.

Instant regret.

She rolled off the sofa like a fallen burrito.

THUD.

Silence again.

Aditya stood dramatically. "We lost her."

From the floor came Aarshi's weak voice:

"…the ground betrayed me."

Ayaan crouched beside her trying very hard not to laugh. "The ground did not move."

"It emotionally shifted."

Aditya looked down at her like a disappointed gangster. "You fell in slow motion. I witnessed the entire tragedy."

Aarshi pointed accusingly at him from the floor. "You look like you threaten shopkeepers for free candy."

Aditya looked proud. "Finally someone understands my aura."

Meanwhile Aarshi had now wrapped herself around the carpet emotionally.

"No," she declared dramatically. "This hall understands me."

Ayaan stared at her for a long moment.

Then turned toward Aditya with the expression of a man one inconvenience away from prison.

"You absolute rascal. This entire disaster happened because of you."

Aditya was shamelessly still laughing.

Finally Ayaan lifted Aarshi into his arms again despite her dramatic protesting.

And then—

something happened that completely shut down the universe.

Aarshi suddenly grabbed his collar slightly, leaned forward—

—and kissed his cheek.

Silence.

Pure silence.

Ayaan froze instantly like his soul had disconnected from his body.

Aarshi immediately burst into chaotic laughter afterward, proving she clearly had no idea what she was doing.

Unfortunately—

Aditya witnessed everything.

And the demon wasted absolutely no time.

CLICK.

Perfect photograph captured.

Aditya looked at the picture with the satisfaction of a criminal mastermind.

Ayaan finally regained consciousness.

His ears turned red immediately.

Without saying another word, he carried Aarshi straight to her room at maximum speed while she kept laughing uncontrollably the entire way.

Then he locked the door from outside dramatically like he was containing a supernatural entity.

From inside the room came Aarshi's sleepy voice:

"Ayaan…"

"What."

"You're still duplicated."
