Chapter 1 - Transmigrated Into An Otome Game With My Bestfriend!?

Kumu Mitsuki, a 17 year old highschool girl, is currently being a lazy couch potato.

"Yes people, you heard that right. This girl right here." Matsuri said, holding up his phone camera to show Kumu sitting down lazily with a sleepy grin on his face.

"Tsk, Matsuri.. are you recording me again?!!" Kumu grumbled, her expression clearly looking annoyed as she sat up from the couch and stomped her way over to where he was.

Matsuri quickly put his phone down and hid it behind him, holding onto it tightly with that cheeky grin still on his face.

"No I'm not, what are you talking about?" He replied, making a mock-sad expression, but failed since he couldn't even hold in his own laugh.

Kumu's eyes narrowed at him, taking a step forward. "Don't lie to me, Matsuri! I know your phone's there!" She put her hands on her hips.

"Nah, don't wanna." Matsuri stuck his tongue out playfully at her.

"Gimmie it!" She took another step forward, then another one, her arm almost reaching his phone until Matsuri suddenly sprinted away.

"Ble." He grinned with that natural sleepy expression on his face—whilst she was trying to catch up to him. "Tsk! Come here you cheeky little brat!" Kumu shouted, running as fast as she could.

She eventually got closer, but just as she was about to grab him, he suddenly darted to the other way. This little brat. She thought.

She gritted her teeth out of frustration. "Ugh!" She groaned, already out of the breath and exhausted from running so much.

The girl wasn't all too fond of chasing after her bestfriend anymore so she just gave up and sat down on the floor.

"Tired already?" Matsuri chuckled as his head peeked out of the other room.

"Yes. I don't wanna run anymore. I give up." Kumu replied, feigning resignation as she looked up at Matsuri.

"Aw.. you're such a party pooper, Kumu." He teased, coming over to sit down beside her on the floor.

She just sighed in response. "Whatever, let's just play that game already!" She said, grabbing the controllers and facing the TV Infront of them as she turned it on. She gave the yellow colored controller to Matsuri since that was his favorite color. He smiled slightly.

"Fine, fine. I feel a bit bad for making you run so much since you're so bad at sports and stuff." Kumu flicked his forehead with an annoyed look.

"Ow." Matsuri smiled, holding his controller in place whilst Kumu held onto her own pink controller. Her expression quickly shifted from annoyance to excitement.

"We've played this game like a hundred times already. Do you not get tired of it?" Matsuri asked, a comically tired expression on his face.

"Nah, it's fun! When we're playing it together." She replied with a small grin, her eyes focused on the TV screen Infront of them.

Matsuri's eyes widened just a fraction, and a faint blush seemed to appear on his cheeks. But it quickly went away as soon as it came and his expression went back to normal as if nothing happened.

There it was. "Fated Love" the otome game wherein you play as the heroine, or the main protagonist, Ilyanna Mal Solenne. And the three main love interests that you can conquer:

The crown prince: Lucien Aurelius Valecrast

The gentle knight: Cedric Everhart

And lastly, The mage: Leandre Astor.

"Alrighty! Who should we conquer for today??" Kumu turned to look at Matsuri.

"Mmm.. let's do the crown prince, Lucien." Matsuri said, using the buttons of his controller to pick the route.

"Okie Dokie!" Kumu replied enthusiastically.

There it was, Crown prince Lucien and his fiance, Elysia Valeria Vistocess. Who was also known as the noctorius villainess.

The tv screen glitched for a second, but none of them noticed it. At all.

"Aw.. I feel bad for Elysia.." She spoke as it showed a cutscene of Lucien leaving Elysia alone in the hallway with the heroine by his side.

"You always feel bad for the villainess." Matsuri chewed on the bag of chips he found on the floor.

"Well I mean, I can't help it!" Kumu whined, looking at Matsuri and eyeing the bag of chips. "What if you were in her place, huh?" She sniffled with teary eyes.

Matsuri stared at the bright screen in front of them, seeming to notice that one of the characters on the screen looked like it was staring right at them... Weird. Maybe just a bug or a prank from the devs.

He brushed it off, thinking nothing much of it. "Well, I mean, I guess I'd probably try to live a peaceful life..." Matsuri replied lowly and with a thoughtful look, shoving a chip in Kumu's mouth as she chewed on it... slowly.

"Geez.. whatever." She shook her head in disbelief, a fond smile playing on her lips as she looked at him.

The two kept on playing until it reached 1 am. Kumu was still wide awake, but Matsuri was already seeming to doze off—the yellow colored controller in his hand slipping off from his grip.

Kumu noticed this, and she decided to put his head on her shoulder so that he could rest properly. Then, she turned off the tv and dozed off, too with Matsuri by her side.

. . .

The tv screen flickered ominously, the bright white screen casting a white light across the two figures obliviously sleeping. Then suddenly...

They had vanished.
