"Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!"
More than a dozen Shadow Clones burst out of the forest, rushing Renji all at once.
"Let's go together! I've endured long enough—time to beat Teacher Renji up! Sasuke always hogs the spotlight. It's my turn now!"
"Oh—!"
The clones drew their kunai and swarmed him from every direction.
"Repel… ah, using the same trick again is boring," Renji muttered.
He lifted a finger, then changed his mind.
"Eight Trigrams: Revolving Heaven."
Chakra exploded outward from his body as he spun rapidly in place. A light-blue vortex formed around him like a rotating barrier.
Boom—!
All the clones were blasted away instantly.
They hit the ground and dissolved into white smoke. Naruto's real body staggered up, bruised and panting.
Renji rubbed his chin and sneered slightly. "You guys… are really weak."
Naruto bristled. "Damn it! Just wait! I'll become Hokage one day and beat that arrogant face of yours until you cry!"
"Is that so? I'll look forward to it," Renji replied casually.
"Ahhh! Damn it!" Naruto gnashed his teeth. The more indifferent Renji sounded, the angrier he became.
Sasuke clicked his tongue. "I didn't expect that idiot to succeed anyway."
He suddenly threw a sharp kunai.
Whoosh!
It flashed forward like lightning, aimed straight at Renji's face.
"Transformation, huh?" Renji tilted his head slightly, letting the kunai graze past his cheek.
Bang!
The kunai turned into smoke. Sakura leapt out, real kunai in hand, slashing toward Renji's neck at point-blank range.
"Sorry, Teacher Renji. We win this test!"
She swung with full confidence.
"It really was a transformation," Renji said calmly.
He caught her wrist mid-slash and flipped her over, slamming her onto the ground.
"Hmph—!" Sakura winced as pain shot through her body. Her confident smile vanished instantly.
So fast!
"Confidence is good. Blind confidence is foolish," Renji said coolly. "Naughty brats need discipline."
He raised his hand.
Sakura squeezed her eyes shut.
Slap—!
A crisp sound echoed across Training Ground 7.
Everyone froze.
"Mmph—!" Sakura gasped, her face turning bright red as tears welled up in her eyes.
She had expected a punch.
Not—
That.
Renji flexed his fingers thoughtfully. "Hmm… barely acceptable."
Sakura struggled furiously, humiliation burning through her. "Bastard! Pervert! Hooligan! Let me go!"
He actually evaluated the 'feel'?!
"Still talking back?" Renji smacked down again.
Slap—!
The sharp sound rang out once more.
"Sa… Sakura-chan…" Naruto stared in disbelief.
The fierce Sakura Haruno being held down and spanked?
In front of Sasuke?!
This was unreal!
"Hiss… it hurts!" Sakura cried, shame and anger mixing as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Pervert teacher! Let me go!"
Being disciplined like this in front of Sasuke it was mortifying.
"Still cursing?" Renji continued without hesitation.
Slap. Slap. Slap.
The repeated sound echoed through the training ground.
"Waaah…!"
Sakura finally broke into tears.
"Admit you were wrong," Renji said calmly.
"I… I was wrong…" she muttered through teary eyes, face flushed crimson.
She didn't even know what she'd done wrong.
Renji finally released her. "Good. A student who can correct mistakes is worth teaching."
Sakura stumbled away, clutching herself, glaring furiously. "Pervert… Stinking Rogue…"
What kind of teacher does that?!
Naruto approached carefully. "Sa… Sakura-chan, are you okay?"
She didn't answer.
Instead—
Bang! Bang! Bang!
She punched Naruto repeatedly.
Naruto collapsed to the ground, head covered in bumps. "Why am I always the one getting beaten up?!"
Renji shifted his gaze to Sasuke.
"So. That was your plan?" he said indifferently. "Sub-par. Meaningless."
He tapped his temple lightly, "And there's nothing in your pocket either."
Sasuke clenched his fists tightly, Sharingan blazing with frustration.
Unwilling.
Humiliated.
"When facing an enemy you can't defeat…" Renji's voice lowered.
A terrifying surge of chakra erupted from his body.
Boom—!
The ground cracked violently. Dust and debris were ripped upward by the pressure alone.
The sky darkened.
A suffocating killing intent filled the air.
Even distant parts of Konaha felt it.
"Such… such terrifying chakra…" Sakura whispered in horror.
Naruto and Sasuke stared at Renji in shock.
The pressure alone made breathing difficult.
This was the true gap between them.
