Chapter 10 - Cooler

Salmina tells him that the favor she needs is for him to destroy a Cold force garrison at the outskirts of the region, which had been messing up the local trade routes for months, running extortion on the smugglers that kept her business network moving, making everything harder and more expensive.

She'd been waiting for an opportunity to make it go away. She slid a piece of paper across the bar with the coordinates of the building.

Indra picked up the paper and left, opening up a rift and coming out in front of the building, which had Cold Force insignia on every surface, and a handful of ships docked along the left side with thirty soldiers on patrol.

Five soldiers at the entrance saw him and went for their weapons immediately, and Indra raised his hand toward the building, ready to fire a ki blast, but instead, the building lifted off its foundation. The entire outpost base rose into the air as the soldiers stared at the floating building, surprised.

'What the hell, ahh I see, when I absorbed Frieza I got his entire techniques as well, I got caught up in looking for King Cold, that I forgot that was a feature,' Indra thought.

The outpost wobbled slightly in the air as a door fell, then Indra dropped it, and the crash shook the ground, throwing the soldiers off their feet as their ship rocketed, but before any of them could recover, Indra fired a ki blast, which destroyed the building and killed all the soldiers.

Indra didn't have any remorse for the Cold force, remembering how they tried to kill the Shamoians. He walked through the wreckage and pulled a chest plate out of the debris with the Cold Force insignia as proof that he accomplished the job for Salmina.

He tucked it under his arm and headed out to an open terrain not far from the wreckage to test out his new techniques. He pointed at a boulder and shot out a death beam, but then he started rapid fire with both hands, alternating.

The beams came out fast, but his aim was terrible; he didn't mind, though, and grinned, excited by the possibility of trying out Frieza moves. He then looked up at the sky and shot out two invisible red beams from his eyes. The beams went sideways instead of parallel to each other.

He needed to learn to control them in a completely different way. He spent ten minutes constantly firing them, but also trying to control them as well, and by the end, he could hit a boulder without them going in different directions.

He moved on to the telekinesis, which was harder to control than he expected. He reached out with his mind, and a flat slab of rock the size of a car rose smoothly off the ground, and then he tried to move it sideways, but it dropped.

He tried smaller, with a rock the size of his fist, which he could freely move in different directions. Then he moved on to four rocks at once but was only able to move three of them simultaneously, while the last drifted off. He then eventually moved on to the spinning disc.

It formed in his hand as a flat ring of ki. He looked at a rock formation up ahead and threw it with the disc, cutting through it cleanly, but then he used his telekinesis and tried to change its direction, but it wobbled and exploded.

He plans to practice even more, but he needs to head to Salmina. He picked up the Cold Force armor, which he had set down to practice, and opened up a rift that portaled him back to the Cantina. Salmina looked up when the door opened and saw the scorched chest plate he set on the bar counter.

"That was fast," she said.

"They were weak."

"I have more jobs," she said. "The kind that pays well and comes with discretion on both ends. Someone with your particular abilities would be very useful to have on retainer."

"Nah, it's not my kind of thing, I don't like having a job."

"Of course, a strong mannnn like you wouldn't want to be tied down to a job, but the pay is the best in this galaxy," Salmina said, in a flirtatious tone while smiling.

'She's good at this, must have rizzed up a bunch of other suckers, Jaco included, but unfortunaly miss i'm not too attracted to a fish.'

"I appreciate it, but as I said, it's just not my kind of thing."

Salmina read his face and stopped smiling.

"Fair enough." She said as she reached under the bar and put a folded piece of paper on the counter next to the chest plate.

"Planet Eon, located in the North Galaxy." She unfolded the paper, which showed the exact coordinates.

"The planet receives luxury supply shipments through channels that were pretty hard to trace, even for me. I can't tell you with certainty that King Cold is there, but I can tell you someone extremely powerful is hiding on that planet and going to significant lengths to stay hidden. If you actually go, I recommend that you be careful."

Indra folded the paper and tucked it away. "Thanks, Salmina." He said with a smile and headed out the door.

He opened up a rift to Planet Eon, using the coordinates he was given, and stepped through it. It was beautiful - he'd give it that. It had a red and orange sky with yellow clouds. He activated his Byakugan to look for King Cold's ki, expecting to only find one large ki, but instead he found two.

'Who the hell is that?' Indra thought as he flew towards the signatures, and what he saw shook him to his core. Standing with King Cold was Cooler.

'What.. why is he here, no don't tell me I'm not in canon.'

This changed things completely. Indra had only watched the canon movie broly but no other Dragon Ball movies. He, of course, knew Cooler, being the second most iconic Dragon Ball movie villain besides Broly, but all he knew was that he could transform and was stronger than Namek Saga Frieza.

But that didn't matter; the pressing matter was that his meta-knowledge could be inaccurate now, he was basically going in blind. What else was out there that he'd written off as non-canon?
