Ruz's POV
New life, New people and new friends and most importantly, a new version of me.
I don't want any trouble, fights, or chaos anymore. I just want a normal life, like every other student.
I stood in front of the mirror, adjusting my uniform and trying to look as ordinary as possible. I was wearing a neat white shirt, paired with a navy skirt and a fitted blazer. It was simple, elegant, and perfect.
"I can't change what happened at my previous school…" I murmured to myself. "But I can change what happens now."
I took a deep breath, steadying myself.
"This is my second chance, and I'm not going to lose it… not again."
Not when it matters this much. I was still lost in my thoughts when a voice suddenly interrupted me.
"You know, you look completely insane right now."
I turned and saw, Adrian leaning against the doorframe with arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"Make sure you actually follow through on what you just said," he added casually. "Now, come fast, or we'll be late on your first day."
Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked away.
God… his tone is so irritating.
I headed downstairs to the dining area, where everyone was already seated.
Kuya and Tito looked almost identical one reading a newspaper while the other held a cup of coffee. Like father, like son.
Adrian was eating quickly, clearly in a hurry.
Aren't we supposed to be cousins? Why does he feel like he's from a completely different planet?
Aunt noticed me and smiled warmly.
"Ruz, come and dig in ."
She made me sit beside her and gently served my breakfast, like nothing had happened at all.
After a while, she started with her usual "life lecture" tone.
"Control your anger, try to get along with people, and be patient," she said, placing another spoon of food on my plate like she was feeding wisdom along with breakfast.
I stared at her. "Wow. Revolutionary ideas."
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "Don't start."
"I'm not starting," I said innocently. "I'm evolving. Emotionally. Violently."
She sighed. "This is exactly what I mean."
Adrian, from across the table, muttered into his food, "Here we go again."
I leaned back slightly. "Don't worry, I'm controlling my anger right now. Very successfully. You should be proud."
"Eat your food," she said flatly.
"Yes, ma'am," I replied, far too dramatically. "Peaceful citizen reporting for duty."
Normally, I would avoid listening to all of this, but… it's her.
She loves me like her own daughter. She cares. So I listen. Because she matters to me. A lot. After breakfast, and long lecture about life, about patience. We walked out to the driveway.
Adrian's Hyundai Verna sat there, black and sleek, gleaming in the morning light. His first love. He talked about that car like it was a person. Like it had feelings. Like it could hear him and appreciate his compliments.
we got into the car. On the way to school, I looked out the window, quietly observing everything around me. A new place. A new beginning. Let's see… how long this "normal life" lasts.
