Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 – An Easy Conversation

"I'll deal with you all later…"

Zhang Jianguo shot a glare at the rebellious students. His expression then shifted back to calm as he looked at Wang Teng, who had just taken his seat.

"Wang Teng, come with me for a moment."

"Oh."

Wang Teng stood up again and followed Old Zhang. The two left the classroom and headed upstairs.

As they passed the neighboring class, Wang Teng could see Tang Yue teaching. It looked like she was organizing the students for practical training.

She didn't seem to notice him at all—her gaze remained fixed inside the classroom.

Before long, Zhang Jianguo brought him to the teachers' office.

Zhang Jianguo sat down at his desk, poured himself a cup of tea, then leaned back.

"Explain it. Why didn't you come to school for over a month?"

"I've been cultivating at home the whole time."

"You know I'm not the type who likes wandering around."

"Of course, I've already controlled six Star Particles, and I'm preparing to control the seventh."

"It shouldn't be long before I can release a beginner-tier, level-one Mental Element spell."

Wang Teng naturally noticed the displeasure on Old Zhang's face and immediately offered him a sweet carrot.

"Oh? Really?"

"You're not lying, are you?"

Old Zhang's eyes instantly lit up.

This progress already matched Xu Zhaoting's, and even Mu Bai—the Mu Clan's genius in the neighboring class—was only at this level.

That meant his class had two such students.

Slightly better than Old Xue's class.

That counted as his achievement—temporarily surpassing Old Xue.

After all, this concerned the selection of the advanced class's homeroom teacher.

If his class performed better, then naturally, he would get the position.

"Why would I lie to you?"

"Relax. I'll definitely be able to release magic during the final exams."

Wang Teng smiled confidently.

This final exam was indeed important.

After it, the advanced class would be reorganized—a massive class of a hundred students.

He'd be meeting those idiots again.

"Alright. Keep working hard."

"That's all. You can go back."

Zhang Jianguo waved his hand, signaling dismissal, while inwardly calculating who else in the class might have a stable chance of releasing magic.

Very few people could release magic within the first year after awakening.

Anyone who could do it was undoubtedly hardworking and outstanding.

Outstanding people shouldn't be criticized.

Wang Teng turned and left.

With just a single casual piece of information, he had completely neutralized Zhang Jianguo's attempt to come down hard on him.

After heading downstairs, he ran into the neighboring class moving out together.

"Didn't get scolded, did you?"

Tang Yue looked at Wang Teng coming down the stairs, her tone carrying a hint of schadenfreude.

"Do I look like someone who got scolded?"

"Old Zhang is extremely satisfied with me."

Wang Teng grinned.

Noticing the confused looks around them, he made a small, ambiguous bear-like shrug gesture.

Tang Yue instinctively jumped back in fright.

But the next second, she reacted and froze in place.

"Ah—damn! Who is that guy?"

"He actually wants to hug Teacher Tang Yue? Scoundrel!"

"Teacher Tang Yue looks startled—man, I'm so jealous of him!" one male student muttered while biting his collar and tearing at it, eyes filled with envy.

"It's over—our goddess Tang Yue is being harassed!"

"Damn… that guy looks like he's from the neighboring class!"

"Sigh… the boys in our class are useless."

"They're not even as good as the neighboring class."

"Yeah, but he is pretty handsome. Only Mu Bai from our class can compare…"

"Slut, stop swooning and move already…"

Looking at the noisy corridor, Tang Yue shot Wang Teng a fierce glare.

This guy really knew how to stir things up—always causing trouble for her.

She then put on a stern expression and swept her gaze across the gossiping students.

They were instantly frightened into lowering their heads and hurrying forward, as if ghosts were chasing them.

After teasing Tang Yue a little, Wang Teng didn't linger and returned straight to his classroom.

On the main training field.

"Teacher Tang Yue, are you very familiar with that guy from the neighboring class?"

"Uh… what was his name again… oh, Wang Teng."

While practicing, Mo Fan sneakily approached Tang Yue under the excuse of asking for guidance, his curiosity clearly burning.

Ever since Tang Yue started teaching their class, he had never seen anyone she treated this proactively.

Some instinct deep inside him told him that the relationship between those two was closer than the one between himself and Tang Yue.

Tang Yue frowned slightly.

Mo Fan was a student she understood fairly well—a potential prospect.

But only that.

She was willing to invest some minor resources into him, but nothing major.

Her wealth had practically been drained dry by Wang Teng already.

"Yes, we're quite familiar."

"In the future, he'll probably be a very strong competitor for you."

Tang Yue felt she was being quite tactful.

She couldn't exactly say that he could kill everyone present with a casual wave of his hand.

That would be far too terrifying.

Having been here for over half a year, she had gained a general understanding of the local forces.

The Mu Clan was almost dominant.

Especially in the school—after all, it was funded by the Mu Clan.

Other forces were roughly the same.

The place was simply too small.

She now somewhat understood Wang Teng's approach.

There was a saying: in a small temple, demonic winds run rampant; in a shallow pond, turtles multiply.

If Wang Teng didn't know his limits and exposed such terrifying cultivation talent,

then in this small city, it would be like a sudden flood dragon emerging.

Without relying on local powers, survival would be nearly impossible.

But could a place like this nurture a flood dragon?

Most likely not.

With his cautious mindset, he had surely seen this clearly.

That was why he remained obscure at school—practically a nobody.

However, because of her involvement, Wang Teng seized a precious opportunity and completed the hardest phase of initial accumulation.

From now on, he could probably afford to loosen his restraints just a little.

No—he already had.

That earlier teasing was likely a sign that he was about to start stepping into the spotlight.

In the past, he wouldn't have dared to do something that bold.

It would have drawn too much attention.

"Huh? A competitor?"

"He's that strong?"

"I checked the information carefully."

"Only beginner-tier level-two Mental Element magic has offensive capability."

"He hasn't even fully controlled his Star Particles yet."

"How could he possibly be my opponent?"

Mo Fan looked completely unconvinced.

After all, he could already release Lightning Element magic.

By the final exams, his Fire Element magic would also be ready.

Holding two powerful elemental magics in his hands, he couldn't imagine how he could lose.

Teacher Tang Yue really must be close to Wang Teng—to think so highly of him.

Tang Yue suddenly felt that Mo Fan was a bit naïve.

She used to think he was quite mature.

No—that wasn't it.

Her standards had been forcibly raised by Wang Teng.

Compared to Mo Fan, Wang Teng was more like an adult.

He was sharp-minded in his actions, skilled at judging situations, and rarely let emotions cloud his thinking.

Mo Fan, on the other hand, seemed more emotionally driven.

That likely had something to do with their respective backgrounds.

When it came to manipulating human psychology, Wang Teng was genuinely frightening.

Putting herself in his shoes, even she admitted she couldn't pull off the same things.
