Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 – Running Into a Wall

Wang Teng had completely immersed himself in the development of demonic arts.

Without realizing it, more than a month quietly slipped by.

His obsession with mastering spatial abilities made him forget the passage of time—and even forget that he still needed to show his face at school.

Until…

Clang—clang—clang—clang—

Wang Teng frowned and opened his eyes, only to see an empty soda can slowly rolling to a stop in front of him.

Then came high heels.

Black stockings.

Upward was a stretch of fair skin.

Above that, black lace clothing.

And then… a pair of exceptionally eye-catching—

"Sister Tang Yue, it's you."

"Are you resting today?"

"You're not chasing the Black Vatican?"

Wang Teng relaxed his brow and fired off three questions in succession with a faint smile.

She really did look striking today—especially her lips, clearly touched with lipstick.

Though she didn't seem to be in a very good mood.

"Chasing your head."

"How long has it been since you went to school?"

"The principal came straight to me and asked what was going on!"

Tang Yue reached out, about to poke Wang Teng, who was still sitting cross-legged on the cushion.

She had never seen someone this obsessed with cultivation—this was even more excessive than Mo Fan.

"Huh?"

Tang Yue let out a surprised sound.

Her finger passed straight through Wang Teng's head.

Unconvinced, she poked him several more times in succession, but still couldn't touch anything.

"Hmph. Trash-tier."

"Someone at your level no longer has the qualification to touch me."

Wang Teng's lips curled upward as he mercilessly mocked her, his face filled with enjoyment.

"How is that possible?"

"How did you do that?"

"Why can't I touch you?"

Tang Yue pulled her hand back, her face full of doubt. She no longer cared about his teasing and instead focused on the principle behind what she was seeing.

"This ability is still a half-finished product."

"You could say it's an entry-level demonic art. It's still far from the form I want."

Wang Teng shook his head. He hadn't seen what he wanted, and he also lost interest in teasing her further.

Naturally, he had no intention of explaining the underlying principle.

In his conception, Void Stealth should mean entering deeper layers of space—becoming invisible while still being able to move freely.

There should be no spatial fluctuations, no interference with surface space.

Only then would he truly have the freedom to wander anywhere.

Unless it was a demon or mage above the Monarch level with extremely high spatial mastery, no one should be able to detect him.

Stopping him would be even more impossible.

"You…!"

"You—!"

Tang Yue pointed at Wang Teng, her mouth slightly open, eyes filled with disbelief.

If not for the fact that his expression showed no sign of acting, she would have seriously suspected him of putting on an act.

Such a terrifying ability—and he was calling it a half-finished product?

The fact that she couldn't touch him meant physical attacks would have extreme difficulty landing.

For most demons, whose combat relied heavily on physical power, this meant half their strength was effectively nullified.

Wang Teng smiled as he stood up.

He deliberately stepped around her finger and walked toward her one step at a time, forcing her to retreat step by step until she was backed into a corner.

"Let's go. Time for school."

"The morning air in Bo City is really refreshing."

Wang Teng looked at Tang Yue's trembling eyes and gave her a playful wink before retreating and stretching lazily, his gaze full of mischief.

Tang Yue finally snapped back to her senses, her face instantly flushing red.

She had thought she was about to be forcefully kissed.

She had nearly forgotten to resist.

If he had actually leaned in—

"Fire Burst—Burn!"

Tang Yue's beautiful eyes flashed with fury. Violent fire-element magical energy surged around her, as if she was ready to roast him on the spot.

Wang Teng immediately slipped away.

That was a bit terrifying.

Tang Yue's chest heaved violently with anger. With a casual wave of her hand, she threw the Fire Burst at the cushion.

The next moment, the cushion was engulfed in flames and quickly burned to ashes.

"Hmph."

"Lucky you ran fast."

"I'll burn your cushion and see how you cultivate then."

She stared at the pile of ashes and slowly calmed down.

Then she realized she might have been angry to the point of acting a little… childish.

Shaking her head, she walked to the edge and looked down.

Below, Wang Teng was riding away on a small electric scooter.

A faint smile unknowingly surfaced on her face.

Why am I smiling…

Tang Yue quickly dissolved into shadow and vanished from the rooftop.

"Oh? The big shot finally has time to come to school?"

Xu Zhaoting stopped at the school gate, staring at Wang Teng as if he were some kind of rare specimen.

"What?"

Wang Teng gave him a strange look and noticed that the magical energy fluctuations in Xu Zhaoting's body were quite strong. He was probably close to being able to release a first-tier spell.

Chewing on a fried dough stick and sipping milk, Wang Teng enjoyed the long-lost taste of breakfast, his mood unusually good.

"What do you mean 'what'?"

"I thought you dropped out and weren't coming back."

Xu Zhaoting hadn't expected him to be this calm. After being absent for so long, he had already assumed Wang Teng had quit school.

"Why wouldn't I come back?"

"I'm still planning to take the magic university exams."

Wang Teng didn't slow down as he spoke. Xu Zhaoting followed alongside him, wearing an expression that practically screamed, "Stop right there, it's my time to show off."

"Hey, Wang Teng, you've been cultivating at home this whole time, right?"

"You must've already mastered the sixth Star Particle by now, yeah?"

"Or maybe you're already working on the seventh?"

Xu Zhaoting smiled enthusiastically, pretending to care about his progress, though his eyes gleamed with calculation.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand."

Wang Teng did his best to look ordinary and deliberately sped up just a little.

"Hey, don't walk so fast!"

"No need to be embarrassed—come on, tell me your progress."

"We're classmates, what's there to hide?"

Xu Zhaoting's smile grew even brighter. He was barely holding back his urge to show off.

Judging by Wang Teng's response, maybe he was still stuck on the fifth Star Particle?

Or even the fourth?

Too embarrassed to say it?

As long as Wang Teng answered even once, Xu Zhaoting could immediately show off in front of him.

He had done it plenty of times before.

The only one he hadn't shown off in front of yet was this Wang Teng, who had vanished for so long.

That always felt like an unresolved regret.

Unfortunately, the classroom wasn't far.

Wang Teng walked straight in.

Xu Zhaoting, following behind, looked utterly regretful as he glanced at Wang Teng heading to his seat.

Not even a single opportunity.

"Man, I'm really jealous of the neighboring class getting a beautiful teacher."

"Yeah, I even want to transfer over."

"Too bad I'm not Fire Element. I heard that beauty teaches Fire Element practical classes."

"The kids next door keep screaming all the time. It's annoying."

"Seriously."

"When are they going to replace Old Zhang?"

"All he ever talks about is demons. I'm sick of hearing it."

"If he didn't talk about demons, what would he talk about?"

"Obviously beautiful women."

"Ahem—"

"Ahem—"

A few boys leaning against their desks chatted openly, showing no restraint as they discussed the beautiful teacher from the neighboring class.

They didn't notice that their homeroom teacher, Zhang Jianguo, had quietly appeared behind them.

Those who noticed quickly turned their heads and started coughing loudly to warn the others.

"Heh."

Seeing this, Wang Teng found it amusing.

Zhang Jianguo stood behind them with a dark expression, scaring the group into immediately lowering their heads and pretending to study hard.
