At the third floor, in the headquarters of the parasite exterminators, three familiar people exit out of an elevator, ready to report back their mission.
Maxy is the first to run out of the elivator to Aisling: "Aisling, Aisling! Did you see what we did there?! That was sooooo cooooolll, right?"
Aisling, overwhelmed, yet expecting the question, said: "Yea, yea I saw. You two really did a number on that parasite. And it seems you have brought someone very interesting as well..."
Bree, anthough slightly nervous, takes a few steps towards Aisling's desk and gives out a hand, Aisling accepts the hand: "I'm Aisling, head of the parasite exterminators, and you are?"
"I'm Bree, it's nice to meet you!"
Brian comes closer to the three and says: "Aisling tries to not tell anyone, but it's important to note that she has a really cool ability!" Maxy follows Brian up instantly, barely not jumping in the air out of exitement: "Yea, you see, she can see everything! Like, through walls, miles in the distance everything!" Aisling, hearing this slightly, grabs a airhorn from her desk and puts it to Maxy's ear. Maxy instantly runs away: "Wait, wait, ok I'm sorry! I won't tell anyone again..."
Brian and Bree laugh at the situation for a few seconds
Brian then follows: "So... where's our money?"
Aisling sighs, tosses a bag with coins over to Brian and Maxy and says:" Here's you two's pay, you did well. As for Bree, she didn't partake in this mission, so she'll be getting pay the next time."
Bree nods in understanding.
Aisling then continues:"However... now that we have more than two people working on this job, we might be able to tackle larger cases... including..."
Maxy instantly interupts
"THE EMPTY LAKE ON RED STREET!"
Aisling nods
"Correct! I think now that we have one more member, we should try as fast as possible. Brian, Maxy, please inform Bree on the situation before sundown, we're gonna have to do this at night, now get out of my office, I've got things to do."
They all nod and take the elevator back down.
After they go back to the main office and out of the elevator, bree asks:
"So... what about the lake exactly? I never knew red street even had a lake."
Brian grabs a seat and sits down
"Well, parasite mainly target humans, and they slowly remove all the memories that people have of said person. However...
That does not mean they can do the same for other things in the enviroment."
Bree nods
"I see... so why exactly are we still seeking it out? After all, the lake has already dried up."
Maxy answers
"Well, you see. Not only did the entire lake get sucked up, all of it's enhabitants also got taken with the lake itself, and naturally, once a parasite finds a lot of good material in one spot..."
Bree continues
"It will stay in that spot...?"
Brian stands up again
"Bingo.
The last time we investigated that lake was only a few days ago, however... we couldn't even identify the parasite's shape before we realised it was too much power for us. We're hpping all four of us could have enough power to take it down."
Bree nods as she walks up to open the door and head outside
"Yea, that sounds reasonable enough. I'll see you at night, then."
Brian responds
"See you at night, directly at the location, that's how Aisling sees it."
Maxy chuckles a little
"Sees."
Bree chuckles a little too. Brian, however, really doesn't find it funny at all.
And so, they wait untill nighttime, ready to take on the empty lake at red street.
