Chapter 148: Why Don't You Just Rob Me?
But on their voyage, they encountered massive waves; the ship was severely damaged, and their food and fresh water were nearly exhausted.
To restock their supplies, the ship docked at a port.
"Hey, vegetable seller, how much for this?"
While Naruto was browsing the port, he asked a vegetable vendor.
"Oh, this is an especially rare mushroom. It's very good for the body and tastes great! One hundred Ryo each."
"What?! One hundred Ryo?! Why don't you just rob me?"
"Too expensive? Then forget it."
"Wait! I'll buy it!"
Thinking that there wasn't much food left on the ship, Naruto gritted his teeth and bought the mushroom.
Back on the ship, Naruto gave the mushroom to Yamato to cook for everyone.
Yamato sliced the mushroom and put it into the soup.
Before long, the soup was ready, and everyone couldn't wait to serve themselves a bowl.
But as soon as they took a sip, everyone spat it out.
"What is this?! It's disgusting!"
"It seems to be the taste of that mushroom..."
"Quick! Get some water!"
Everyone grabbed their water canteens to rinse their mouths, only to find that the water in the canteens had also become incredibly foul-smelling.
"How can this be?! How did this mushroom even pollute the water?!"
"Could it be... this mushroom is poisonous?!"
"No way?! Then aren't we going to die on the ship?!"
Everyone was in a panic, not knowing what to do.
Uzumaki Naruto also felt extremely remorseful because of his own recklessness.
Just then, the ship suddenly began to shake violently.
"What's going on?!" Everyone grabbed onto the ship's railing in a panic.
"It's a storm! Everyone, take protective measures quickly!" Yamato shouted loudly.
But it was already too late; the storm had already swept over the entire ship.
Uzumaki Naruto and the others were swept into the seawater, struggling desperately to grab onto something.
But the storm was too fierce; they couldn't catch anything and could only drift with the waves.
After an unknown amount of time, the storm finally stopped.
Uzumaki Naruto and the others were washed onto a desert island. They supported each other as they stood up, looking at the scene before them.
The ship was nowhere to be seen, and they had no idea where they were.
"We need to find food and water as soon as possible," Yamato said, looking at everyone. "And we also need to repair the ship as quickly as we can."
"But we're all exhausted..." Aoba said weakly.
"It's okay! I still have my Shadow Clones!" Uzumaki Naruto said as he formed Hand Seals and summoned a large number of Shadow Clones.
The Shadow Clones began to divide the work, with some going to find food and water and others going to repair the ship.
Uzumaki Naruto's original body was responsible for commanding and coordinating.
However, the workload for the Shadow Clones was simply too much, and they never got any rest.
Finally, one Shadow Clone couldn't take it anymore; he picked up a rope and tied Uzumaki Naruto up.
"What are you doing?! Let me go!" Uzumaki Naruto shouted as he struggled.
"We want to improve our working environment and treatment!" the Shadow Clones shouted in unison.
"What?! Are you rebelling?!" Uzumaki Naruto shouted in surprise.
But the Shadow Clones were no longer listening to him; they had gone on strike.
Uzumaki Naruto had been captured!
Yamato, Aoba, and Guy, these Jonin, looked at the scene before them, not knowing what to do.
"We have to rescue Uzumaki Naruto as soon as possible," Yamato said, looking at everyone. "But there are too many Shadow Clones; how do we deal with them?"
"We can use Genjutsu!" Guy suddenly said. "I can use my ultimate move, Hidden Lotus, to create illusions to confuse them!"
"Good idea! Then let's begin!" Yamato nodded in agreement.
At this time, Nara Shikamaru was leading Choji and Ino as they trudged through the forest.
"Nara Shikamaru, when exactly are we going to get out of this forest?" Choji complained.
"Yeah, we've been walking for several days already," Ino chimed in.
Nara Shikamaru didn't answer, just silently continued forward.
He didn't know when they would get out of the forest either; he only knew they couldn't stop and couldn't give up.
Because they bore the heavy responsibility of finding Uzumaki Naruto and the other companions, and their lives were in their hands.
Thinking of this, Nara Shikamaru felt a wave of confusion.
He didn't know if he could complete this mission or if he could protect his companions.
Just then, Shikaku appeared in front of Nara Shikamaru.
"Nara Shikamaru, what are you thinking about?" Shikaku asked, looking at Nara Shikamaru.
"I... I don't know if I can complete this mission," Nara Shikamaru said somewhat dejectedly.
"Nara Shikamaru, you can't think like that," Shikaku said, looking at Nara Shikamaru. "You are a very excellent Ninja with a clever mind and strong power. Moreover, you have good companions like Choji and Ino; you will definitely be able to complete this mission."
"Really?" Nara Shikamaru asked, looking at Shikaku.
"Of course it's true." Shikaku nodded. "However, what you need to do now is not continue forward, but go and meet up with Uzumaki Naruto."
"Meet up with Uzumaki Naruto?" Nara Shikamaru asked, somewhat puzzled.
"That's right. I just used a Summoning Beast to investigate and found that Uzumaki Naruto and the others are on an island called Mokuzu. They are in dire need of supplies right now," Shikaku explained.
"Then let's go quickly!" Choji and Ino shouted in unison.
So, Nara Shikamaru led Choji and Ino toward Mokuzu Island.
However, when they reached the seashore, they discovered a large amount of Foam suddenly emerging from the sea.
This Foam became more and more dense, quickly covering the entire surface of the sea.
"What's going on?!" Nara Shikamaru shouted in surprise.
They didn't know what this Foam was or if it would cause them harm.
They only knew that the current situation was very dangerous and they had to find a way to leave as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, at the Hyuga Clan gathering, the atmosphere was solemn and tense.
Hiashi stood on the high platform, his gaze like a torch as he scanned the crowd of clansmen below.
"Now that the war is urgent, we must be united as one to overcome the difficulties together," Hiashi's voice was steady and powerful. "On the battlefield, Neji will be responsible for leading everyone."
As soon as these words were spoken, the clansmen began to whisper among themselves, and the sound of discussion rose from all sides.
"How can it be Neji? Isn't he from the Branch House?"
"Yeah, there are so many direct descendants in the Main House, how could it be his turn?"
"What exactly is Lord Hiashi's intention in doing this?"
...Regarding the clansmen's doubts and confusion, Hiashi did not offer much explanation.
He knew well that his decision would inevitably cause some criticism, but it was also a necessary move.
Now that the Hyuga Clan was in need of talent, Neji's strength and wisdom were both outstanding. Having him lead everyone was undoubtedly the most suitable choice.
On the other side, Tenten was inviting all the female companions of the same period to hold a gathering.
"Hinata, how has your training been going lately?" Tenten asked with a smile.
"It's okay, I'm working hard every day," Hinata said with a slight smile, somewhat shyly.
"You really are diligent, unlike me, who's always being lazy," Tenten shook her head with feigned helplessness.
