Roku didn't answer immediately. His eyes drifted into his memories thinking about "That Day".
The Naka River
The river flowed quietly, the fish in the river swam lazily almost without a care in the world.
"Woosh" "Thud", Roku appeared from atop a tree and jumped down onto the river. Chakra covered his feet allowing him to stay on the river. He looked around and waited, just then a female Anbu jumped out and rushed toward him.
Roku turned serious and prepared, "Eighth Form - Sunflower Thrust". Roku shoved the sword through the female anbu's chest. Roku's expression turned serious, "Why was that so easy?" he thought.
He looked toward the anbu's mask and his eyes widened, the Anbu had one eye. In that eye sat a sharingan. But it wasn't a normal patterned sharingan, but he definitely recognized the pattern
Blood hit the water and he fell down holding the anbu's body, "No no no no no WHHY" he cried out. The blood seeped into his hands as he set her down on the bank and began to try and heal her.
But just then he removed the mask, he began to cry and collapsed to his knees, "I'm so sorry, no no no, why, I'm sorry," he repeated over and over.
His mother stuck her arm out and held his face, "I was dying anyway." she told him. He looked up confused. "After I am gone you would have needed strength, so I made a plan to give you some" She smiled
He shook his head violently "No I need you, you can't leave me." He broke down crying even harder. He tried even harder to save her but her smile stayed the same. "Don't worry, I'm gonna die soon anyway, I love you and I could never be prouder."
"No you'll survive." he shouted, but then her hand fell and her eye lost its light. Something inside of him broke, and the world turned red. The Tomoe in his eyes began to rotate faster before forming into an hourglass.
Present.
"She forced me, even though she knew I would hate it." he screamed at Shisui. Tears were streaming down his face. He hiccupped and whispered, "I would rip out my eyes if it just meant she lived another day"
"Roku", Shisui sighed softly. But then the sound of a door rattled, "What's happening" the sound of a woman calling out shocked.
Pakura stood in the doorway looking at Roku crying in surprise, she had never seen him cry even when the fourth died. She then glared at Shisui standing in front of him, "What did you do?!" she demanded angrily.
Roku wiped his tears and spoke up, "I was just telling him about my mothers death" Roku told bluntly. Pakura's eyes widened "I'm so sorry, ill just leave" she apologized before running back into the house.
Roku looked after her and sighed, he looked at Shisui. Shisui looked surprised and tried to lighten the mood. "So you got a girlfriend?" he asked smugly. Roku laughed and shook his head.
"She's just a frien-, we're not there yet" he told him. They both stayed silent before Roku continued, "I'm tired, I'll be quick". Shisui looked confused before turning solemn.
"Naruto needs to live since he is the first to tame the nine tails and become a perfect Jinchuriki, he is instrumental in the 4th war." Shisui looked surprised but spoke up "how does helping in one war stop the world from ending" he asked not getting the point.
Roku's expression turned grave and explained, "because the 4th war is all 5 villages vs a single group". Shisui's eyes widened but Roku continued, "this group's plan is to destroy the world and take chakra from everyone to keep for themselves". Shisui sat shocked, understanding the gravity of the situation.
"Will talk about the details another day, it's late and to talk about the Uchiha's situation and then go to sleep" Roku told him. Shisui finally remembered the fate of the and listened attentively.
"The Uchiha clan turned bitter by the villages constant oppression, the voices within the clan for a coup became strong, so as a result you told the elders about your Mangekyou and how you planned to use it to make Fugaku never agree to a coup" Roku began.
Shisui's eyes thinned, not liking the way the story was going, "As a result Danzo killed you and stole your right eye" he told him bluntly.
Shisui's expression darkened but Roku didn't give him a chance to interrupt, "Your death allow a "certain someone" to awaken the Mangekyou, and then it also increase the calls for the coup"
Shisui couldn't help but interrupt, "Who is a certain someone?" he asked intrigued. Roku smiled at him and told him, "Itachi, he becomes your best friend after i am gone" he said calmly. Shisui's eyes widened and exclaimed "who managed to kill you?" he asked.
Roku glared annoyed, "Wow you are so broken up about my death" he said sarcastically. Shisui laughed sheepishly "Sorry I was just so surprised". Roku sighed, "Don't worry it can't happen since I know about it, but don't interrupt me again" he glared at him.
Shisui smiled "Fine fine I'll let you finish". Roku began again, "Then Itachi made a deal with the higher ups, as long as his brother lived he would kill the entire Uchiha clan". Shisui's eyes widened, he wanted to interrupt but didn't.
Roku turned away from him, "That's the main process, I'll tell you the gritty details another day, right now I need your help" he sighed. Shisui couldn't help but voice his confusion, "what do you need?" he asked.
