Chapter 9 - Chapter 08: The Touchstone of Fire

#Urban #lovestory #romanticstory

Ariyan's life was measured precisely, like the ticking hands of a clock. His days were spent entirely between university, tuitions, and his part-time job. But for the past few days, he had been noticing that someone was shadowing him like a ghost. He couldn't figure out whether this was some move by Mr. Arman or something else entirely.

That night, it was around eleven o'clock. Ariyan was returning to his small mess on his bicycle after finishing his work at the IT firm. The city was mostly quiet by then. Suddenly, a black microbus blocked the path of Ariyan's bicycle.

Four to five masked men got down from the vehicle. They had iron rods and hockey sticks in their hands. Ariyan asked in a calm voice, "Who are you? I don't have anything expensive to give you."

One man laughed with a harsh, grating voice. "It's true you don't have anything valuable on you, but your courage has grown too much. Hanging around Mr. Arman's daughter has become your doom, kid!"

Saying this, the man came forward to strike Ariyan with a rod. Ariyan tried his absolute best to protect himself, but he couldn't keep up with four people at once. He collapsed in a corner of the road, covered in blood. Just as they were about to strike a major, fatal blow, the road was suddenly illuminated by the bright light of intense headlights.

A white private car sped in and slammed its brakes right in front of them. Tuli stepped out of the car. Her face carried a fierce, enraged expression. Tuli screamed, "Don't you dare! If you lay a hand on him, I will call the police this very second. I know you are men sent by my father. Go tell my father that if anything happens to Ariyan, I will give up my own life!"

Seeing Tuli's fierce, combative stance, the goons hesitated for a moment. They did not have the courage to get involved in a feud with Mr. Arman's daughter. They quickly got into their vehicle and fled the scene.

Tuli ran over and lifted Ariyan's head onto her lap. Blood was spurting from Ariyan's forehead, and he was almost losing consciousness.

"Ariyan Bhaiya! Open your eyes! Look at me!" Tuli's crying broke the stillness of the night.

Ariyan looked at Tuli with half-closed eyes. A faint, blood-stained smile appeared on the corner of his lips. He said in a weak voice, "You... why have you come here, Tuli? I told you to leave me alone."

Tearing her scarf to bind the wound on Ariyan's forehead, Tuli said, "Shut up completely! I didn't wait ten years just to let you die. As long as I am here, I won't let anything happen to you."

Tuli somehow managed to lift Ariyan and put him into the back seat of the car. Driving the car herself, she rushed him to the hospital. Tuli sat in the hospital corridor the entire night. Her elite status, her expensive clothes—everything today was smeared with blood and dust. But there was only one prayer in her heart, "Oh God, please give my Ariyan back to me."

At dawn, when Ariyan regained consciousness, he saw Tuli sleeping next to his bed with her head bowed down. Her hand was resting over Ariyan's hand. Ariyan kept looking at Tuli with a steady gaze. The first crack appeared today in his stone-cold heart. He could understand that this girl's love was not a luxury; it was a sacred flame of fire that wanted to protect him from all dangers.

But Ariyan knew this battle had only just begun. When Mr. Arman finds out that his daughter spent the entire night by the side of an injured young man, the eruption of the volcano is inevitable.
