Ariyan could not bear the white walls of the hospital and the harsh smell of medicines. A few stitches had been put on his forehead, and his body was still quite weak. But he was feeling a greater pain seeing Tuli asleep in the chair next to him. The girl had not closed her eyes for a single moment all of last night. All the pride of her elite status lay shattered on this hospital floor today.

Suddenly, the silent corridor shuddered at the sound of heavy boots. As Ariyan looked up, he saw Mr. Arman himself standing at the door of the room. Behind him were two bodyguards. Fire of rage was burning in Mr. Arman's eyes.

Hearing the sound, Tuli woke up with a start. Seeing her father, her face turned pale. "Father! You are here?"

Without saying a word, Mr. Arman grabbed Tuli's hand tightly. "How dare you, Tuli! You spent the whole night in the hospital for this street boy? You have mixed all the honor and respect of our lineage into the dust!"

"Father, he is not a street boy. He is Ariyan! Don't you remember that meritorious boy from Shantiniketan village?" Tuli screamed and said.

Mr. Arman laughed a laugh of pure disdain. Looking at Ariyan, he said, "I have heard you are very meritorious. But remember, a stomach is not filled with merit, nor is respect gained by it. Respect comes through money and power. Last night's attack was just a warning. After this, if I see you anywhere near my daughter, it won't take me a single second to erase your very existence."

Ariyan had been silent all this time. Now, he slowly got up from the bed and stood up. His body was shrinking in pain, but his eyes were fixed straight upon Mr. Arman's eyes.

Ariyan spoke in a calm but firm voice, "Mr. Arman, ten years ago you insulted my father and drove us out of the village. Today you are threatening me. But you are forgetting one thing—there is a vast difference between that little Ariyan of ten years ago and the Ariyan of today. You can buy people with money, but you cannot buy anyone's personality and stubborn resolve."

Mr. Arman roared, "Mind your tongue! Do you know who you are standing in front of?"

"I know very well," Ariyan took a step forward. "I am standing in front of someone who loves his own ego more than his daughter's happiness. You wanted to beat me, right? Do it. But keep in mind, the more you strike me, the more powerful I will return. And this wall of your elite status, I will break down with my own hands one day."

Trembling with rage, Mr. Arman held Tuli's hand and dragged her out of the room. While leaving, Tuli only looked back once. The tears in her eyes gave birth to a massive resolve in Ariyan's mind.

After Tuli left, Ariyan kept looking toward the outside sky through the window. He whispered to himself, "Mr. Arman, you were right—respect comes through power. From today, my struggle is not just to survive; my struggle is to crush that throne of yours. I will fulfill the promise of the blue note!"

That very afternoon, Ariyan came out leaving the hospital. There was a new obsession in his eyes then—the obsession to be successful. He knows, this city is no longer just a place for his studies, it is his battlefield.
