JASMINE
I stepped out of the school building and dashed toward the waiting car, excitement bubbling inside me. The whole day was finally over, and the weekend meant the gala. I couldn't wait to get ready.
"Good day, Lucas. Why did you come with this?.." I paused mid-sentence as I opened the door and saw Stephan sitting inside, looking calm and composed.
"Stephan?"
"How was your day?" he asked, his voice low.
A small smile tugged at my lips as I asked, ignoring his question. "You're taking me somewhere?"
"Yeah," he replied, the corner of his mouth lifting slightly. "Isn't the gala this weekend? You will need some dresses, so…"
My eyes widened with genuine surprise and joy. "Wow… what a very sensible man! You are such an intelligent man! Of course I need one!" I let out as I jumped inside the car.
For a second, his smile grew then it disappeared completely as he turned to look out the window. His jaw tightened.
"What is he doing here?" he asked, voice suddenly cold.
