JASMINE
The drive back to the mansion was wrapped in a soft, golden silence. The city lights blurred past the windows like distant stars, and the faint scent of sea salt still clung to our skin from the beach.
Stephan's hand never left mine, his thumb tracing slow, soothing circles on the back of my hand. Now and then he would glance over, his midnight eyes soft with a quiet kind of love that made my chest feel too full.
When we finally pulled into the driveway, the mansion's warm lights spilled out onto the stone steps like an invitation home.
Stephan turned off the engine but didn't move right away. He leaned across the console and cupped my face with both hands.
"Thanks for trying to make everything loving today." I let out and then he smiled.
"Well… It's everything you are supposed to get, after all you are my wife and I promised always to make you happy always."
I smiled as I kissed his cheek, about to shift back he pulled me back and kissed me slowly.
