FIVE YEARS LATER

I alighted from my airplane as the whiff of the city hit me. It's been five years but it still felt like yesterday to me.
"Little Anne!" Damon, my lovely older brother, called with his hands spread among the crowd.
Not only are eyes on him but the weird glance I had gotten made me wish the ground would swallow.
Even though I am going to be thirty this month, I am still his little Anne ever since he thought he almost lost me.
"Hey…" I called trying to stop him, but his arms were still spread open daring me not to embrace him.
I did it with a full heart, not wanting to disappoint him.
"I miss my little Anne so much," I rolled my eyes at this. "Hey, We did a video call last night.."
"That still doesn't beat my little Anne being here with me," I noticed the concern in his tone as he spoke.
I needed no one to tell me he was being emotional. The past five years have been the greatest change in our lives.
