Lyra was recovering in the hospital when someone broke into her room. Officer Ramos—who'd filed the false report on Isaac—was found dead outside her door, his body split in two by the axe. Inside, Lyra was gone, her bed empty except for a single oni mask.
Zara and Kairos rushed to the hospital's basement, where the morgue was located. Inside, they found Lyra tied to a gurney, with a machine pumping air into a plastic bag over her head. Nora stood beside her, Lila—wearing the Ghostface mask—holding the controls.
"Hello, Zara," Lila said, pulling off the mask. Her eyes were cold, just like Nora's. "You left me to die. You let them break me. Nora saved me. She taught me how to make people pay."
"Lila, please," Zara begged. "I was scared. I was only fourteen—I didn't know what to do."
"Excuses," Nora said, raising the axe. "Just like all of them. Now it's your turn to choose: watch Lyra die, or watch Lila kill you."
Kairos hacked into the hospital's system, shutting down the machine. As Lila turned to attack him, Zara tackled Nora, knocking the axe from her hand. But Nora was stronger—she slammed Zara's head into the gurney, leaving her dizzy.
When Zara came to, Nora and Lila were gone. Lyra was still alive, but she'd been injected with a drug that left her unable to speak.
