Elio Cruz cornered Zara in the cafeteria, his hands shaking. "I know who the other killer is," he said, pulling out his hidden camera. "I've been filming everything—even things Nora doesn't know about."
He played a video: Nora talking to a girl who looked exactly like Zara's sister Lila. "You want revenge for what they did to your friend," Nora said. "I want revenge for what they did to mine. We can help each other."
The girl turned to the camera. It was Lila—she was alive.
Zara staggered back, her heart racing. "But… I saw her body."
"Nora helped her fake her death," Elio said. "She's been training with her for two years. She's the one who called you tonight."
Before he could say more, the cafeteria lights went out. A metal grate fell over the doors, trapping everyone inside. Gas began pouring from the vents.
"Choose," Nora's voice echoed. "Save Elio, or save the rest of the students. The vent to shut off the gas is behind Elio's table—but it's rigged with explosives."
Zara ran toward Elio, but Kairos grabbed her arm. "No—he's lying. He sold the videos of Isaac to Vince. He's part of this too."
Elio pulled out a gun. "You're right," he sneered. "Nora promised me I'd be safe if I helped her. That I'd get paid."
Kairos threw his laptop at Elio's head. As he stumbled, Zara slammed a chair into his stomach, disarming him. She ran to the vent, cutting the wires just as the gas reached explosive levels.
When the lights came back on, Elio was gone. A note was left on his chair: "TRAITORS PAY TOO."
