Chapter 89 – The Plan… Changes Again
"All in all, that's the plan."
Law sat at the table eating rice balls.
Everyone else was eating the sandwiches Sanji had made.
Luffy, however, had a special barbecue sandwich.
Just moments earlier, Sanji and Law had almost started a fight because Law refused to eat sliced bread.
After listening to the plan, Luffy nodded seriously.
"Yeah."
"I think this plan is very logical and well thought out."
But while saying that—
His eyes were completely focused on the barbecue in Dressrosa he was imagining.
Usopp immediately smacked him on the head.
"I knew it!"
"You only like the plan because you want to eat Dressrosa's food!"
"Don't say that, Usopp."
Luffy stared dreamily ahead.
Drool dripped from his mouth.
"I'll carry out the plan. I will."
The rest of the Straw Hats looked at the gloomy Law and the drooling Luffy.
Everyone had the same thought.
This is definitely going to go wrong.
Breakfast on the Sunny
"Itachi, would you like another one?" Sanji asked.
He placed a sandwich in front of Itachi.
Just as Luffy tried to grab it—
Sanji instantly pulled the plate away.
"Hands off!"
"Thanks, Sanji," Itachi replied calmly.
"I'm full."
He had already eaten one earlier.
Sanji crossed his arms thoughtfully.
"You hardly eat anything."
"But you can unleash ridiculous power in battle."
"I remember during the banquet at Fish-Man Island, you barely ate anything either."
Itachi didn't respond.
Instead, Law clapped his hands.
"Listen up."
Everyone turned toward him.
Law Assigns the Teams
Law pointed at Luffy.
"The infiltration team will consist of Luffy, Zoro, Franky, and Kin'emon."
"Your mission is simple."
"Find the SMILE factory and destroy it."
Kin'emon was included because he insisted on searching Dressrosa for his missing companion.
Usopp looked at the team lineup nervously.
"…I have a bad feeling about this."
Zoro raised an eyebrow while casually holding a bottle of sake.
Usopp sighed.
"Well…"
"Good luck."
Law continued.
"The second team—"
"Will be me, Usopp, and Itachi."
"We'll handle the Caesar exchange."
"We'll meet Doflamingo at Green Bit Bridge and stall him."
Usopp immediately panicked.
"WHAT?!"
"Why me?!"
"You're the ship's sniper," Law said calmly.
"Your observation ability is the best we have."
Then he glanced at Itachi.
"With Itachi's perception and combat awareness…"
"The three of us are the best possible team."
A Dangerous Idea
At that moment, Itachi asked calmly:
"What if we simply kill Doflamingo at Green Bit Bridge?"
Law paused.
"At first… I considered that option."
"With the current combat strength on this ship…"
"It's possible."
He glanced around.
The Sunny currently had several top fighters aboard.
"But there's a problem."
"Doflamingo is still the king of Dressrosa."
"Well… he just resigned."
"But if we destroy his power structure here—"
"We'll immediately become enemies with Kaido, who's part of the SMILE trade."
"That would be extremely dangerous."
Law folded his arms.
"So for now—"
"We destroy the SMILE factory first."
"Then we deal with the aftermath."
He looked at the Straw Hats.
"You can handle the factory, right?"
Luffy was still staring at imaginary meat.
"Don't worry…"
Usopp was crying beside him.
"I really don't want to go…"
More Arguments
"The rest of the crew stays behind and guards the ship," Law continued.
"You'll move the Sunny to the designated port once the mission is complete."
"In that case," Law asked, "any objections?"
Everyone seemed to agree.
But then—
Itachi shook his head.
"The team composition should change."
Everyone turned toward him.
"I should go with Luffy's group."
"I'll assist with destroying the SMILE factory."
"There's no need for so many guards on the ship."
"Instead, add another fighter to Law's team."
Franky immediately struck a dramatic pose.
"Oh!"
"Itachi! Are you worried about us?!"
He tied his hair into two braids and struck a star-shaped pose.
"Don't worry!"
"When we find the factory—"
"I'll fire a SUPER laser and blow it up!"
Law sighed.
"To be honest…"
"The infiltration team already makes me nervous enough."
"I'd rather keep Itachi on the team facing Doflamingo."
Chaos Begins
"What do you mean by that?!" Luffy shouted.
He jumped onto the dining table.
"I'll destroy the factory myself!"
Usopp continued crying.
"Law, I don't want to go!"
At that moment, Nami's voice came from outside the door.
"What if we send Chopper instead?"
She peeked in cautiously.
"Wait—me?!" Chopper gasped.
Moments later, he joined Usopp in crying.
"Doflamingo is terrifying!"
Law sighed and shook his head.
"No."
Robin then stood up calmly.
"Then I'll go."
"I'll join Law and Usopp."
Sanji instantly jumped to his feet.
"That's impossible!"
"How could Robin-chan face such danger?!"
"If Robin-chan goes, then I must go too!"
"Wait!" Nami shouted from the doorway.
"If you all leave…"
"Who will protect the ship?!"
Usopp suddenly brightened.
"Then you two go instead!"
"I don't want to go!"
Luffy's Brilliant Solution
Luffy waved his hand impatiently.
"This is too complicated."
"I'll just go with Law and beat up Doflamingo!"
"That solves everything!"
Then he grinned.
"But first…"
"We have to sneak into Dressrosa."
His eyes filled with excitement again.
"Gather information."
But everyone knew what he really meant.
Food.
Back to the Original Plan
Seeing the argument growing louder and louder, Itachi sighed.
He raised his hand.
"…Let's return to the original plan."
Everyone froze.
They all stared at him silently.
Itachi suddenly realized something was wrong.
"…What?"
Another thirty minutes of arguing followed.
In the end—
They somehow produced a completely new plan.
