"Damian, why isn't Mya here?"
Madam Xavier didn't care for Aria Sterling, but she was very fond of Mya Walsh. She'd been overjoyed back in the States when she heard he and Mya were together and had returned this time specifically for their wedding.
When his mother asked about Mya Walsh, Damian Xavier hesitated.
"What's wrong? Did you and Mya have a fight?" Chloe Kane asked, looking puzzled by Damian Xavier's silence.
Damian Xavier shook his head. "No, it's just late, so I didn't have her come over."
He decided it was best not to tell his mother about him and Mya Walsh for now, lest her mood worsen and affect her health.
Chloe Kane nodded. "That's true. It's already past ten. I'll just talk to Mya tomorrow."
"Mom, you probably shouldn't. She's very busy. Maybe some other day."
"How could that be? I've finally come back after so long. Of course I have to see my daughter-in-law." Chloe Kane clearly disagreed. She was already getting impatient.
