Mo Ling suddenly stood up from the stone, clutching his chest, his whole body trembling.
Since he had broken free of the overlapping state, the god's-eye view shattered in an instant, and everything returned to tranquility.
There were no beings unable to find release, nor was there any sound of boisterous laughter.
Only the small, calm puddle before him...
Mo Ling's movement made the ground tremble slightly. A small wave rippled out from the edge of the puddle, its ripples spreading back and forth across the small pool. Mo Ling's heart, too, remained turbulent for a long time.
The Little Elf remained seated on the stone, looking at the small puddle.
"What's wrong?" it asked, a little worried.
"Did you hear anything?"
"A sound?"
"Yes, laughter. From up there." Mo Ling pointed toward the sky.
The Little Elf was silent for a moment before replying, "No."
Mo Ling took a moment to compose himself and sat back down on the stone.
