"Aren't I just... me?" Shi Li froze. She wasn't ready to confess to Bai Qingye.
"Silly girl, there's a big difference." Bai Qingye's tone was mild, yet it had a strangely reassuring quality.

"It seems unbelievable now that I think about it, but I'm inclined to believe that you're two completely different people," Bai Qingye murmured, holding Shi Li gently and voicing his questions.
"You don't have to be so tense. Whether you're the one from before or someone new, it doesn't matter. In the time we've been together, haven't we started over from scratch?" Bai Qingye didn't press her for an answer. It would be too awkward if his guess was wrong.
