"Can I borrow some money?"
"Borrow?"
Alaric Davenport suddenly slammed on the brakes and looked at her.
"Um..." Rosalind Lowell didn't dare turn her head to look at him, staring blankly ahead instead.
"How much?"
"One million... is that okay?" Rosalind Lowell's voice trembled slightly as she asked cautiously.
"One million?" A flicker of doubt crossed Alaric Davenport's face. "What for?"
Rosalind Lowell was silent for a moment before speaking. "I want to open a fashion studio."
She wasn't asking him for money for Herman Lowell. She'd had the idea of opening this studio for a long time.
But she'd had no way to break away from Herman Lowell and had originally planned to start it in secret. Now that she was married to Alaric Davenport, at least in name, she had a reason to leave Herman Lowell's company.
That way, once her wings were fully fledged, she would have the power to leave the Lowell Family and take care of herself after the marriage contract ended.
"Your reason."
