Ray POV
I closed the door and took a deep breath as I walked to Anok, who was leaning on the fridge, crossing her arms and giving me a look full of ridicule.
Today had been very hectic, and the fact that Claudia was so close to uncovering my connection with Clarissa and Miles made my blood run cold.
I've always told myself that it didn't matter once Claudia knew about my plan. After all, she was bound by the contract, and wouldn't be able to escape no matter what.
But why was I stressing out all this time?
On top of that, she actually hopped on a taxi that Clarissa used before. It was a scary coincidence that almost felt like a divine intervention.
I was an atheist through and through, because I liked to have things under my control, not some random entity up there.
But the coincidence was so uncanny that I began to wonder if this random sky entity saw Claudia and wanted to help her know the truth.
