The days after our first reunion were like hell for me, because Ray kept on coming into the florist with a simple reason.
He wanted to send flowers to someone special, and wouldn't leave until I accepted his request. After all, I did not want the girls to see their Uncle Ray, because they might think that we could be together again, just like before.
I quickly accepted the order just to make sure that he was gone. But whenever I asked about the address for his beloved, he would say the same thing, over and over, as if he didn't spell out her address.
And in the end, he would add:
"Please write down a message to my beloved, Claudia. Tell her that I am sorry, and I will spend a lifetime making sure that she and our children will be safe. I have a lot of patience and no shame to apologize every day."
