Once Aimy recovered, and when the time was right, Alicia and I would have that conversation. Whatever answer she gave me, I would accept it if it was truly best for our daughter.
Footsteps sounded in the hallway. I rose to my feet. The doctors had arrived.
The thought of leaving Aimy in a hospital while we still didn't know what had happened to her unsettled me, which was why I had arranged for the best doctors and equipment to be brought to the villa instead.
"Chairman Blackwood."
I turned to see Dr. Harrison. We shook hands.
"This is Dr. Maxwell, the country's leading pediatrician," he said, introducing the man beside him.
"Thank you for coming," I said, returning his handshake.
"And this is Dr. Abel, a renowned medical toxicologist."
After greeting them both, I led them to Aimy's bedside.
"I trust you've reviewed her records from Rosewood Town Hospital?"
"We have," Dr. Harrison replied reassuringly. "Please don't worry. Give us some time to examine her thoroughly."
