Good news! I’ve been transported into the world of Naruto, Minato is my best friend, and the system reward—the Rumble-Rumble Fruit—is mine! A perfect start… but the mission? Find Monkey D. Luffy?! Luffy is in this ninja world?! Then one day, Hoshino Yu spots someone wearing a straw hat at the Ninja Academy… and his ninja career takes a completely unexpected turn: building rafts in the training grounds, recruiting navigators and snipers at the Academy, and even planning to “set sail” from the Land of Fire. When the system labels the Fourth Shinobi World War as the “Marineford War,” Hoshino Yu quietly accepts the reality of his situation. Years later, the history of the ninja world has been utterly rewritten by his actions: Orochimaru becomes the Fourth Hokage, the Akatsuki embrace peace, Fifth Hokage Minato Namikaze is reunited with his family, the Uchiha clan enters the heart of power, Jiraiya attends Naruto’s wedding, and “Luffy” continues his quest for the One Piece…

Chapter One

Something's Wrong with This "Luffy"

Land of Fire.

April, Year 33 of the Konoha Calendar.

Konohagakure.

Morning light filtered through drifting cherry blossoms as Hoshino Yū walked toward the Ninja Academy with his hands in his pockets.

Beside him, Minato Namikaze kept pace easily. Blond hair caught the sun; blue eyes were bright with expectation. He spoke now and then—small observations about the weather, the crowd, the ceremony ahead.

Yū answered when necessary.

The streets were full. Parents guided their children forward, expressions carefully composed. Some looked proud. Some looked worried. Most carried both feelings at once.

Today was the entrance ceremony.

Yū did not share the excitement.

He still wasn't certain how he had allowed himself to be persuaded. Somehow, Minato had convinced him that enrolling was the right choice.

"Yū," Minato said gently, studying his face, "you seem troubled."

"Do I?" Yū replied.

Minato nodded.

Yū exhaled. "It's nothing."

It wasn't nothing.

Entering the Academy meant becoming a shinobi. And becoming a shinobi meant war.

The village felt peaceful now, wrapped in spring air and soft petals. But Yū remembered what was coming. The Second Great Ninja War was not far off. The Third would follow.

Children their age would not remain children for long.

At his side walked the boy who would one day be known as the Yellow Flash. In the history Yū remembered, Minato would graduate at ten and be sent to the battlefield.

Yū did not know whether he himself would survive those years.

His parents were gone. He had grown used to solitude. But somewhere along the way, Minato's presence had become something steady—like a lantern in fog.

That made things difficult.

It wasn't that Yū lacked an advantage.

He had been given a system when he arrived in this world.

It simply… did not belong here.

Two years ago, a translucent panel had appeared in his mind.

Welcome to One Piece… Error detected. Restarting…

Restart successful. One Piece world loaded.

Congratulations, Hoshino Yū. Your Great Voyage begins.

Main Quest: Get to know Straw Hat — Monkey D. Luffy.

Reward: Rumble-Rumble Fruit ×1. Personal Status Panel unlocked.

Progress: 0%.

He had read it several times in silence.

He had been reborn in the ninja world.

Why was his mission tied to pirates?

For two years he searched—quietly at first, then with increasing urgency. He watched for straw hats. Listened for the name Luffy.

Nothing.

Eventually, he tried something indirect.

At five years old, he wrote a story.

He called it The Great Voyage.

He wove into it freedom, inherited will, and a flame that refused to die—ideas familiar enough to resonate within the village. The story spread faster than he expected. Children admired it. Adults found it strangely moving.

Even Jiraiya, disciple of the Third Hokage, had praised the boy's imagination.

The book sold well.

The quest did not progress.

No Luffy appeared.

Yū had nearly accepted that the mission was impossible. He considered living quietly off his earnings, avoiding attention, surviving the coming wars by staying small.

But in this world, wealth without strength invited danger.

Some nights, he sensed eyes lingering outside his house.

He never saw anyone.

He did not need to.

Shadows moved even in a peaceful village.

Minato seemed to understand more than he said. That, too, was why he insisted Yū enroll.

"If you stand still," Minato had told him once, "others decide your fate for you."

And so they arrived at the Academy gates.

In the distance, Hokage Rock overlooked the village. Petals clung stubbornly to branches not yet fully green. Shinobi wearing Konoha headbands maintained order at the entrance.

Yū paused.

Minato placed a hand lightly on his shoulder. "You're the one who used to speak about protecting the village," he said with a faint smile. "About ending the wars someday."

"I remember," Yū replied.

"And?"

Yū looked ahead at the gates. "Now I think surviving might be enough."

Minato studied him, but did not argue.

As they stepped forward, murmurs rose from the crowd.

"Is that Hoshino Yū? The author of The Great Voyage?"

"It is."

"He's enrolling too?"

Yū lowered his gaze slightly.

The book had made him known in ways he hadn't intended. Some adults regarded him with curiosity. Some children with admiration. A few with jealousy.

Minato's presence beside him only drew more attention.

"Seems you're admired," Minato said lightly.

"Temporary things tend to fade," Yū replied.

Minato laughed softly.

They submitted their forms and were led into the central plaza. Parents stood behind the new students as the ceremony began.

On the raised platform stood the Third Hokage, voice steady beneath his ceremonial hat.

"Where the leaves of Konoha dance," he declared, "the fire shall burn eternal."

Minato stood straight, listening intently.

Yū watched the crowd instead.

"Do you disagree?" Minato asked quietly without looking at him.

"I don't know," Yū answered. "I think fire burns because someone keeps feeding it."

Minato considered that.

Yū's gaze shifted, scanning the sea of faces.

Red hair.

He had expected to see it—if memory served, Kushina should be enrolling this year.

But instead, something else caught his attention.

Front left.

A straw hat.

Red shirt. Rolled sleeves. Cropped trousers. Sandals.

The figure stood taller than most first-years. The posture was relaxed, almost careless.

Yū's breathing slowed.

The silhouette was exact.

Inside his mind, the dormant panel flickered.

Main Quest: Get to know Straw Hat — Monkey D. Luffy.

Progress: 50%.

For a moment, he thought he had misread it.

Fifty percent.

Minato noticed the stillness beside him. "Yū?"

"Look," Yū murmured.

Minato followed his gaze. "The straw hat?"

"Yes."

Minato studied the figure carefully. "He resembles the character from your story."

"He does," Yū said.

Too closely.

For two years, every straw hat had led nowhere. But this time the system had responded.

Which meant—

The figure shifted slightly, as though aware of being watched.

Then he turned.

Their eyes met.

The face was similar.

But not the same.

The scar was wrong. The expression was different. There was a sharpness there—an edge that did not belong to the boy Yū remembered.

Something inside him faltered.

"That isn't him," Yū said under his breath.

"Not him?" Minato asked.

Yū did not answer.

The ceremony continued around them, the Hokage's voice steady and unwavering.

But Yū felt the quiet certainty he had carried for two years begin to fracture.

If this was not the Luffy he knew—

Then what, exactly, had entered this world?

And why had the system accepted it?
