Jay's POV
Getting kidnapped while trying to buy ice cream was honestly disrespectful. 😐
Like…
if you're going to ruin my day at least let me finish ordering first.
I had literally just left the ice cream shop holding my cup peacefully.
Peacefully.
For once in my stressful life.
Then suddenly:
A van stopped beside me.
Door opened.
Men jumped out.
And my brain immediately went:
…Seriously?
One grabbed my arm.
Another tried covering my mouth.
Which honestly?
Rude behavior.
Very rude.
I reacted before they even finished thinking properly.
Elbow.
Kick.
Punch.
One man dropped immediately.
Another crashed into the side of the van.
My ice cream fell to the ground.
Tragic moment honestly. 😔🍦
Then somebody grabbed me from behind.
Bad choice.
I slammed my head backward hard enough to hear him curse.
The street became chaos instantly.
People shouting.
Cars stopping.
And unfortunately for the kidnappers…
I had anger issues AND combat training.
Terrible combination for them honestly. 😌
I broke free and started running.
Fast.
Heart pounding.
Adrenaline everywhere.
Then footsteps followed behind me.
A lot of footsteps.
I glanced back once.
Too many men.
Way too many.
Fifteen.
Against one girl.
Cowards honestly. 😐
One caught my arm near the alley entrance.
I twisted hard and punched him directly across the face.
Another swung at me.
Missed.
Barely.
I kicked him into a wall before another grabbed my hoodie.
Then everything became noise.
Fists.
Footsteps.
Breathing.
Pain.
One hit landed against my ribs hard enough to make me stumble.
Another nearly caught me again.
But I kept moving.
Because losing wasn't an option.
Not today.
Not ever.
Eventually I managed to escape through the back streets before they could surround me again.
By the time I finally stopped running…
my lungs burned.
My knuckles hurt.
And my mood?
Absolutely terrible. 😐✨
So naturally…
I went home.
Not family home.
Not school.
Makati.
My hidden place.
The one place nobody bothered me.
The one place where everything felt quiet again.
The gates opened automatically as I entered the property.
And immediately…
silence greeted me.
Beautiful silence. 😌
This place wasn't huge because it needed luxury.
It was huge because I needed space.
Space to breathe.
Space to think.
Space away from drama.
The house sat near the private racing track hidden behind tall walls and trees.
A pool stretched across the side yard reflecting the evening lights softly.
And farther back…
my thinking spot.
A quiet elevated platform overlooking the city lights.
No people.
No noise.
No expectations.
Just peace.
I had been staying here since Monday.
Alone.
Well…
mostly alone.
Aries knew.
Dad knew.
Mom definitely knew because mothers somehow know everything terrifyingly fast. 😭
But nobody forced me home.
Because they understood: sometimes I disappeared here when things became too loud mentally.
Today though?
Things had officially become worse.
Because now people were trying to kidnap me.
Fantastic development. 😐
I walked inside quietly and headed upstairs.
The familiar hallway lights glowed softly around me.
Safe.
Warm.
Mine.
Finally reaching my room…
I shut the door behind me and dropped onto the chair near my desk tiredly.
Then slowly opened my laptop.
Alright.
Time to figure out:
who hated me enough to send fifteen men.
Unfortunately…
the list was long. 😭
Very long.
I leaned back in my chair thinking carefully.
Illegal racing alone already gave me enemies.
Then there were:
angry competitors
rich idiots with bruised egos
underground betting people
people from abroad
business rivals connected to family issues
And honestly?
That was just the beginning.
I rubbed my forehead tiredly.
"Amazing."
"I'm apparently universally disliked." 😐
Then I paused.
Because suddenly…
one thought felt heavier than the others.
Not racing.
Not business.
Not school.
The past.
Again.
And for the first time since escaping earlier…
a small uncomfortable feeling settled in my chest.
Because maybe…
Isabela's warning came too late. 🌙
