Chapter 9 - Shopping (2)

"Wow! Are you really Amon? How did you change so much?" Asahi exclaimed in admiration.

Her eyes sparkled like twinkling stars.

Sakura, standing beside her, also looked amazed, her mouth wide open without her even realizing it.

The Amon standing before them looked like a completely different person.

Whereas before he had seemed gloomy and unapproachable, now he appeared stylish and approachable.

His slightly long black hair was combed back, but not formally. Instead, it had a slight tousle, giving him an indescribable mischievous aura.

He wore a white shirt, the top two buttons undone, revealing subtle, well-defined muscles.

The black trousers fit his long legs perfectly—neither too tight nor too loose.

His shoes, made of genuine crocodile leather, gleamed under the overhead lights.

He held a black coat in his left hand, making him look like a young boss from a wealthy family.

"Is it good?" Amon asked hesitantly.

He had just seen his reflection in the mirror. Indeed, his appearance was more modern—and cooler—than before.

But their reactions were a bit… over the top.

"Great! You look amazing in that outfit!" Asahi said with satisfaction, giving him a thumbs up.

Amon couldn't help but smile. For some reason, the compliment made him genuinely happy.

"Then, let's go with this one. I quite like it," he said.

But Asahi shook her head and refused. "No way."

"Eh? Why?" Amon asked, surprised.

"Hehehe…" Asahi smiled faintly as she looked at the rows of clothes in front of her. "One set isn't enough. Let's get five more—no, ten more!"

Amon: "…"

"Aren't these too much?"

Amon carried ten bags of clothes, five in each hand, filled with shirts, pants, and shoes.

Considering the store he had visited was very famous, the total he spent was staggering—300,000 Loran.

The Loran was the new currency of Fenria, recognized by everyone in the country.

Converted to yen, the total reached one million.

For the former Amon, it was an extraordinary amount.

"Tsk! Why do you look so polite, Amon? Didn't I say I wanted to repay your kindness?" Asahi rolled her eyes in annoyance.

"That's right, Amon. That amount is nothing to us. You can be sure of that," Sakura added softly.

"All right. But it's still too much. I'll repay you in the future."

He had been used to living alone in Hell. Even after founding his own kingdom, he wasn't accustomed to being helped by other demons—including his two wives, Morrigan and Azura.

So he was determined to repay Asahi and Sakura's kindness. Perhaps not with money, but with a guarantee of their safety in the future.

Asahi was annoyed by Amon's aloofness, but then she realized they didn't know each other very well yet.

So it was no wonder Amon behaved that way toward her and Sakura.

"All right. Let's go have lunch first," Asahi said.

Amon and Sakura nodded slightly. The three of them stopped at a very crowded ramen shop.

Luckily, Asahi had a VIP membership card, so they were able to enter a private room and start eating right away.

After ordering various dishes, Amon, Asahi, and Sakura chatted casually.

Most of their conversation revolved around events from ten years ago, including the appearance of powerful transcendents in this world.

From their discussion, Amon got a clear picture of the current situation.

The transcendents did not act alone. Several powerful forces overshadowed them—they were called guilds.

Of course, these guilds were divided into different levels. The most famous were the five major guilds: Black Flame, Eagle Claw, Lotus Petal, Crimson Vale, and Eclipse Order.

Some were founded by wealthy conglomerates from countries destroyed by monsters, while others were established by S-rank transcendents, such as Lotus Petal.

"How powerful are S-rank transcendents?" Amon asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.

Asahi paused for a moment before answering seriously, "They are beyond reason. To describe them… they can destroy a large building with a single punch."

She hoped to surprise and impress Amon, but he reacted differently.

The man calmly sipped his tea, expression unchanged.

'What's going on? Why is he so calm?' Asahi frowned in confusion.

She glanced at Sakura, who looked just as bewildered.

"Excuse me. Your food is here," a waitress said, carrying a tray.

She placed three bowls of ramen on the table, along with the condiments.

Once she was done, the waitress turned and left.

"Let's eat first," Asahi said.

Sakura and Amon nodded slightly. Amon stared at the ramen in front of him, dazed.

'My first meal after returning to Earth… for some reason, I can't help feeling sad,' he whispered.

Tears unconsciously welled up at the corners of his eyes. Fortunately, he quickly wiped them away and began eating.

Asahi noticed Amon's unusual behavior and wanted to ask, but she held back.

Shaking her head, she glanced at him with a knowing look and whispered, 'He's like a child who misses home…'

An hour later…

The three of them emerged with satisfied expressions.

"That ramen was really good. No wonder this place is so crowded," Amon praised sincerely.

He wasn't exaggerating—the food really was delicious.

Maybe it was because the food in Hell had been so terrible, but the moment he tasted this ramen, he loved it and couldn't forget the flavor.

"Pfft! Your reaction is exaggerated, but I expected it. Yes, the ramen is delicious. This place has been around for hundreds of years, so it's natural that the taste is both unique and amazing," Asahi said proudly.

Amon laughed softly and nodded slightly.

"By the way, where are we going now?" he asked.

"Oh, right—I forgot to tell you, Amon. The detective I hired to find your family has discovered something. Do you want to go there right away?"

Her words made Amon's heart beat faster. An image of a beautiful woman appeared in his mind.

Unconsciously, a smile spread across his lips as he nodded.

"That's a good idea. Let's go."

Sakura and Asahi exchanged glances, smiling.

But suddenly…

"Hey, hey, hey, two beautiful ladies. Want to play with us?"
