Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Bulbasaur

"How is it, my cooking skills are not bad, right?" After finishing her meal, Fei Xiao looked at Meloetta and asked.

"Melo!"

Meloetta happily rubbed its little belly, its face full of satisfaction.

"Hmm, come to think of it, was I this good at cooking before?" Fei Xiao looked at the tableware on the table, feeling a bit confused for a moment.

"Melo?"

Meloetta looked at Fei Xiao's confused face, tilted its cute little head, and was also very puzzled about what she was thinking.

Seeing the expression full of question marks on Meloetta's face, she decided to stop thinking about it; there was nothing major going on right now anyway.

She stroked Meloetta's little head and comforted it: "Alright, I was just spacing out, it's nothing big."

She then sat up and just wanted to clean up, but Meloetta directly picked up the tableware and prepared to fly to the kitchen, not forgetting to turn back and squeak.

"Melo Melo."

Seeing that little face begging for praise, Fei Xiao was very accommodating and smiled: "Then I'll leave it to you. I'm going out for a run, thanks for looking after the house."

After saying that, she waved at Meloetta, and the latter smiled, nodded, and walked into the kitchen.

Standing at the backyard entrance, feeling the fresh air outside, she felt exceptionally good.

"It finally stopped raining after two days, and the sun is out. Having such a thoughtful and cute Little Loli at home doesn't seem bad at all."

After sighing, she put on her backpack and started jogging towards the backyard.

Actually, in her past life, she didn't seem to have the habit of morning jogs. She only changed after coming here, treating it as exercise for her body.

On the way, she encountered some Grass-type Pokémon in the forest, such as Oddish and its evolved form, Bellossom.

Fei Xiao would stop from time to time to take out some pre-made Pokémon food from her backpack, which she had prepared in advance using a machine she exchanged for with 500 points.

The Pokémon in the backyard were naturally very close to her, which she guessed was partly thanks to the system. Plus, after two weeks of effort, about a quarter of the Pokémon in this backyard were already familiar with her.

After finishing her morning run, Fei Xiao sat down under a tree to rest.

"seed, seed."

Looking at the green turtle in front of her with a huge seed on its back, Fei Xiao smiled and took out an Pokéblock from her backpack.

That's right, it is exactly the garlic head we are familiar with... ah, no, wait, Bulbasaur.

"seed!"

Bulbasaur's eyes lit up when it saw the Pokéblock, and it affectionately rubbed against Fei Xiao's hand. She handed the Pokéblock over directly.

Bulbasaur started eating excitedly.

"Alright, eat slowly. I have more when you're done."

Fei Xiao quietly watched this scene, recalling how a few days ago it had been struggling desperately and refusing to eat.

While thinking about this, her gaze shifted to the bandage wrapped around its front leg.

This Bulbasaur was not a native resident of the backyard, but had stumbled and collapsed in front of the house while it was raining a few days ago.

Fei Xiao happened to see it and brought it into the house to check, discovering that its leg was seriously injured, seemingly caused by humans.

Even though it was bandaged up, it was very restless and scurried everywhere.

Later, Bulbasaur seemed to feel Fei Xiao's kindness and was no longer full of hostility. Fei Xiao didn't force it, giving it some food and letting it decide for itself whether to stay or leave.

In the end, Bulbasaur didn't leave, but instead entered the backyard to live.

"seed."

After eating, Bulbasaur lay down comfortably, enjoying Fei Xiao's massage.

"Little guy, do you know how good I am now? A few days ago you made the house such a mess that Meloetta almost ignored me."

"seed~"

Listening to her complaints, Bulbasaur silently lowered its head and used its front legs to cover its slightly flushed face.

"Hahaha, now you know how to be shy!"

Fei Xiao patted the seed on its back, and at the same time, she didn't know why she had an urge to pet it; it was too cute, and she almost couldn't control herself.

Bang!

A sharp sound broke this wonderful atmosphere.

The human and the Pokémon both stood up quickly at the same time.

"Is this a gunshot?" Fei Xiao looked in the direction the sound came from, feeling very puzzled, and then looked at the system map.

Not far directly in front, the map displayed 6 white markers, a different color from the green markers for Pokémon.

System, do these white markers refer to humans?

[That's correct, host.]

As expected. She looked at Bulbasaur beside her, which was already shivering slightly.

"It seems the psychological trauma is quite deep." Fei Xiao whispered. Looking at its size, it was so young to have encountered such things.

"Sigh~" She felt a pang of heartache.

Fei Xiao slowly squatted down, stroked its back, and comforted it: "Don't be afraid, with me here, no one can hurt you. You go back first. Don't worry, I'll come back to see you soon."

After all, it was still a child, and it shouldn't be left with too much psychological trauma.

After watching Bulbasaur leave, looking back every three steps, Fei Xiao rushed towards where the gunshot came from. After all, there wasn't just a person on the map.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Six people wearing military uniforms. At this moment, two were unconscious, three were injured, and the last one was dealing with a giant bear.

"Captain, be careful! You can't handle it alone," he said, while trying to support his injured teammate.

"Xiao Yan, hurry up and support Old Hei and get out of here. The captain and I will try our best to hold this beast back." As he spoke, he endured the discomfort in his leg and prepared to launch a sneak attack.

The dark-faced, burly man being supported made a gesture to break free from the support: "Liu Guang, you kid, stop joking. I'll hold it back with my life in a moment; if you can move, run quickly."

At this moment, the captain was relying on a large tree to play a game of wits with the bear. Hearing what the few were saying, he looked furious and scolded: "A bunch of brats, what are you arguing about? As long as I'm still here, why aren't you using all your might to run away?!"

The big bear smashed the tree with one palm and quickly swiped at the captain.

Seeing the bear paw approaching, although he could see it clearly, his stamina could no longer keep up. He was then swiped away and hit a tree.

"Captain!"

Several people were shocked!

Liu Guang jumped with all his might, tightly strangling the big bear from behind, and shouted: "Captain, run!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the big bear reached directly behind itself and backhanded Liu Guang, throwing him in front of itself.

"Argh!"

Liu Guang felt as if all his ribs were broken. His body was in unbearable pain, and he spat out blood.

Roar!

The big bear roared, and light gathered on its paw. Although the others didn't know what it was, they could all feel the danger within it.

"Liu Guang, don't fall asleep! If you don't want to die, run!" The others were terrified.

When Liu Guang moved, the pain surged like a tide, causing his body to feel as if it were tightly bound by invisible chains, unable to move in the slightest. "Damn it!"

"Liu Guang!"

They could only watch the punch fall, helpless.

Whoosh~

A sound of breaking through the air rang out.

An arrow carrying a green fluorescent light flew over.

The big bear was caught off guard and was sent flying dozens of meters away.

"Phew~ Good thing I made it in time."

Several people watched this scene, dumbfounded, and all turned to look in the direction the arrow came from.

Not far away, there was a very beautiful woman. Her white hair was tied in a high ponytail, showing a heroic and dashing style. Her emerald green eyes were staring intently ahead, and she was holding a peculiarly shaped bow and arrow in her hand.

Fei Xiao lowered the raised bow and arrow, and now she could see the culprit in front clearly.
