Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: My Daughter Is a Lord Ravager

From Kiana the Lord Ravager Onward: A Grand Fabricated History

Author: Better Hang Myself Than Write

"So this is the place? The place on Jarilo where the Stellaron is sealed?"

Amid a world of ice and snow, Herta, dressed in a purple lolita outfit, spoke lightly as she looked at the ruin before her, a ruin saturated with the aura of Destruction.

Standing beside her was an ordinary IPC employee currently stationed on Jarilo.

The employee quickly explained, "That's right, Madam Herta."

"Ever since our company arrived on Jarilo, the Stellaron on this planet has been kept here."

Herta nodded indifferently. "Fine. I understand. Leave the rest to me. You can go."

"Yes, ma'am!"

The employee nodded at once, looking as though he couldn't wait to leave.

If he hadn't been ordered here from above, a man as concerned for his own survival as he was would never have wanted to get close to this place in the first place.

Very soon, he hurried out of Herta's sight.

"The Interastral Peace Corporation… hmph. As quick to run as ever."

Watching the man's almost panicked retreat, a trace of displeasure appeared on Herta's delicate face.

With a genius like her standing right here, he was still afraid of a mere Stellaron?

Wasn't that a blatant lack of trust in her abilities?

Hmph. No eye for quality.

Still, she had a task at hand, and there was no need to care about something so trivial.

But when Herta turned her attention back to the ancient ruin buried beneath ice and snow, she made a new discovery.

Though the ruin looked dilapidated on the outside, someone with Herta's eye could tell at a glance that the surrounding area was filled with precise energy fields.

Clearly, these were the company's handiwork.

Seeing this, Herta shook her head.

"Using a composite energy field to forcibly suppress the spread of a Stellaron. The efficiency is atrociously low."

"Though, considering this is the IPC's work, I suppose that's only to be expected."

With that, Herta continued deeper into the ruin.

As a member of the Genius Society, her interest in Stellarons far exceeded the Interastral Peace Corporation's commercial calculations.

Of course, she was not someone with a great deal of free time, either.

If Asta hadn't pleaded with her again and again, she would never have come personally for a trip like this.

But since she was already here, she naturally intended to resolve everything cleanly and efficiently.

So Herta raised a hand.

In an instant, countless miniature probes materialized out of thin air and began conducting a full-spectrum scan of the ruin.

"Hm?"

After a while, Herta's brows lifted slightly.

Because apart from the Stellaron's core, she had found something else of considerable interest.

It was an unremarkable-looking slope, yet it seemed to conceal a deeper layer of Path energy.

"How interesting."

A flicker of surprise crossed Herta's eyes.

"The IPC people didn't mention this. Did they not know about it, or did they hide it on purpose?"

The moment that thought occurred to her, Herta's figure shimmered.

In the next instant, she appeared on top of the slope.

The snow was thicker here, yet for some reason, Herta felt an intense sense of dissonance—like something was being cut off from the outside world.

"Cheap tricks."

Herta immediately made her move, and a vast wave of Imaginary energy spread out to envelop the entire slope.

But the next moment, a strange sensation of weightlessness wrapped around her whole body.

Not good. I think I've actually walked into a trap!

...

...

When Herta opened her eyes again, she found herself standing inside a warm cavern.

Completely unlike the bitterly cold climate outside on Jarilo, this place felt almost like a hidden paradise.

"What remarkable spatial transfer technology. To transport a full-fledged Emanator like me directly here…"

"…Though, what exactly is this place?"

Herta frowned slightly.

But it did not take her long to arrive at a conclusion.

Judging from the faint connection between herself and her probes, she was still near the Stellaron. It was just that the place used to seal it seemed to contain a hidden world within.

"Interesting. If the IPC isn't deliberately playing some prank on me, then perhaps this planet called Jarilo is hiding some secrets no one knows about."

Herta silently speculated to herself.

Between those two possibilities, however, Herta found herself far more inclined toward the latter.

After all, with the kind of people the IPC employed, they probably didn't have the nerve to provoke her like this.

So Herta swiftly swept her gaze across the cavern—and quickly made another discovery.

At the center of the cave stood a gigantic metallic coffin.

No. Rather than a coffin, it looked more like a hibernation pod, or some kind of life-support device.

"Judging by the model, this thing seems rather old."

Herta walked toward the pod.

And only after drawing closer did she finally see what was inside.

It was a transparent chamber, and lying quietly within it was a white-haired girl dressed in a white gown.

The girl's hands were folded over her chest, her expression peaceful, as though she were merely asleep.

But no matter how one looked at it, she had clearly been lying here for a very long time. In all likelihood, her condition could not be very good.

Though…

…the child was rather pretty.

For some reason, that thought suddenly surfaced in Herta's mind.

But just then, an invisible force suddenly emerged from the hibernation pod and instantly locked onto Herta's entire body.

There's even a sneak attack?!

Herta's heart tightened.

But the next moment, she realized that this force did not seem to carry any hostility.

Before Herta could fully make sense of it, however, a graceful figure with indistinct features appeared before her.

"Stranger, please forgive me for meeting you in this manner. But if you are seeing this projection of mine, then the power of the Stellaron must already have begun to loosen, hasn't it?"

Herta studied the projection before her with keen interest.

This was not some real-time conversation.

It was a memory from the past.

Could it be some kind of Memokeeper?

Herta speculated inwardly.

But before she could arrive at an answer, the lingering image continued speaking.

"My name is Cecilia. Cecilia Schariac."

"As you can see, the girl lying inside this hibernation pod is named Kiana Kaslana. She is my daughter."

Those sounded like two entirely unfamiliar family names.

Herta pressed her lips together. She had the vague feeling that she might have just stumbled onto something enormous.

Without giving Herta any time to react, the projection revealed another shocking piece of information.

"At the same time, my daughter is also a Lord Ravager of Destruction."

"For the sake of your own life, please leave this place."
