Chapter 2 - Chapter 2-First win

Chapter 2: The First Win

The Spearow hit the ground hard.

"THUD."

Ash blinked.

"…Did it faint?"

Eevee's small chest heaved, her tail flicking lazily as she landed on all fours a few feet away. She shook her head slightly, her brown fur ruffling in the breeze.

First battle. Perfect.

The wild Spearow had barely had a chance to react before her tiny body darted in, leapt up, and delivered a precise Quick Attacks that slammed the bird Pokémon to the ground. No damage taken, no risk, just clean, calculated efficiency.

The inner system blinked, still dormant for the most part. Only one message appeared:

[RED EEVEE SYSTEM]

Battle Result: Victory

Opponent: Spearow

Method: Quick Attack

Win Streak: 1

Undefeated Record: Maintained

Eevee crouched slightly, catching her breath, her tail flicking with satisfaction. Good. First win. Losing wasn't an option, not for a system-user in a world like this.

Ash ran forward, eyes wide. "Eevee! That… that was amazing!"

The boy crouched beside her, beaming. "You… you beat it in one hit!"

Eevee blinked at him, then tilted her head, letting out a small "Vee…" just enough to convey pride without being boastful.

Ash reached for his Poké Ball, holding it nervously. "Uh… you know, you don't have to go inside if you don't want to."

Eevee's eyes narrowed slightly. Humans didn't need to understand, but she knew the timing was crucial.

A distant screech echoed through the trees.

"SPEEEEAAAROW!"

Eevee's ears twitched.

She glanced at the sky, and immediately her tail flicked.

Wings.

Lots of wings.

A whole flock of angry Spearow was descending.

When one bird got upset, it called the others.

Eevee's expression went flat.

Nope.

She turned to Ash and bounced slightly on her paws. "Vee, Vee, eevee~" she said.

In Eevee-human translation: Get me in that ball. Now. Please.

Ash blinked. "…You want to go inside?"

Eevee let out a small, pleading whimper, ears drooping. Her eyes glistened with just enough vulnerability that Ash couldn't resist.

"Alright!" Ash muttered.

Inside the Poké Ball, Eevee floated comfortably in the warm digital space.

Quiet.

Safe.

Protected.

And just in time.

Outside, the Spearow flock had arrived.

Wings fluttered, screeches echoed, but Eevee could relax. Let the kid run a bit. Cardio builds character.

Her system flickered, now fully active after her first battle:

[SYSTEM UPDATE]

Trainer Bond: Established

Starter Pokémon Registered

Partner: Ash Ketchum

Eevee yipped softly in satisfaction. Perfect. Trainer secured. Timeline deviation acknowledged. First battle won.

She allowed herself a moment to consider the battle, analyzing her own actions. Her stamina had barely held out during the Quick Attack, but her mobility had compensated for it. Close-range moves were her specialty; distance attacks drained her quickly. Each jump, each dash, had been a calculation.

First enemy assessed, first victory recorded. System verified. Next: adaptive learning.

She glanced at Ash through the Poké Ball interface, noting his excitement, the flush of pride on his young face. That boy was reckless, but with her guidance… he could be far more effective. She stored the data carefully. Observing Ash's reactions was just as important as the battle itself.

Somewhere ahead, the wild Pokémon of Route 1 flapped nervously, sensing the arrival of a new player in the timeline. Eevee's mind flicked forward, anticipating encounters. Each opponent is an opportunity to train, learn moves, optimize stats. But patience… patience comes first.

And just beyond the trees, a certain orange-haired bike owner was about to enter the story.
