Chapter 2 - The Song That Felt Too Personal

Mira didn't expect to stay awake past midnight.

But somehow, one episode had turned into two… then three.

She sat cross-legged on her bed, laptop open, completely focused on the screen.

"Okay… this is actually good," she admitted quietly.

The characters were dramatic, yes.

The romance was a little exaggerated.

But there was something comforting about it too.

The storytelling felt emotional, almost poetic.

Mira paused the episode and stretched her arms.

"Still," she said to herself, "people getting obsessed with celebrities is a bit too much."

She closed the laptop and picked up her phone, ready to sleep.

But as she scrolled through social media, a short video suddenly appeared on her feed.

A performance clip.

A Korean rapper standing on stage.

The lights were dim, the crowd cheering loudly.

Normally Mira would have scrolled past.

But something made her stop.

Maybe it was the calm way he held the microphone.

Maybe it was the way he looked thoughtful rather than flashy.

Or maybe it was simply curiosity.

She tapped the video.

The music started.

Deep beats. Slow rhythm.

Then his voice entered — steady, calm, almost reflective.

Even though Mira didn't understand the language at first, something about the tone of the song felt different.

It didn't sound like a typical performance.

It sounded like… someone speaking honestly.

She turned the volume up.

Subtitles appeared on the screen.

And as she read the lyrics, Mira's expression slowly changed.

The words talked about pressure.

About expectations.

About feeling lost even while chasing dreams.

Her fingers stopped scrolling.

For a moment, the world around her felt quiet.

"How is this so relatable?" she whispered.

It felt strange.

How could someone living on the other side of the world describe emotions she herself struggled to explain?

The video ended.

But Mira didn't move.

Instead, she searched for the rapper's name and opened another song.

Then another.

Soon her room was filled with music she had never listened to before.

Some songs were powerful and energetic.

Others were soft and thoughtful.

But all of them felt… sincere.

"Okay," she sighed, leaning back against her pillow.

"Maybe I understand the hype… just a little."

She smiled to herself.

It was nothing serious.

Just music.

Just curiosity.

Just something new to listen to after long workdays.

At least, that's what Mira believed at that moment.

She didn't realize that slowly, without her noticing, those songs would begin to mean more to her than simple entertainment.

Because sometimes music doesn't just stay in your playlist.

Sometimes…

it finds its way into your heart.
