Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Watching the Sun Rise with the Princess

Before Aurora could ask the Foal's name, the music started, and Princess Celestia spread her wings and walked gracefully over, ascending the high platform under the gaze of the crowd.

"She is so beautiful."

As soon as Celestia stepped onto the stage, Aurora forgot about the Twilight Sparkle beside her.

Since seeing Celestia in her childhood, she hadn't had any close contact with The Grand Princess again. After all, The Grand Princess ruled Equestria all by herself, and she also had to do the work of the Princess of the Moon, so she was very busy and tired every day.

Aurora was still young, and she hadn't reached the age to attend some important festivals. It was only because this year's Summer Sun Celebration was held in Canterlot that Aurora had the chance to see her.

It was evident that being a ruler was not a good thing.

Especially since this festival was to celebrate her exiling her own sister to the moon. Aurora felt that Celestia herself must not be feeling good, but as a ruler, she had to suppress her personal emotions and celebrate with the people.

What a strong heart; if it were herself, she would have broken down long ago.

Fortunately, such things would end in a few years. By then, the pony beside her would turn Nightmare Moon back into the Princess of the Moon, allowing the sisters to reunite.

By the way, is the little filly beside me actually Twilight Sparkle?

However, there was no time to verify this question; this was a critical moment.

Whether out of a pursuit of academics or a lust for The Grand Princess's beauty, Aurora didn't want to take her eyes off Celestia.

The noble princess signaled to the crowd, then flapped her wings and slowly rose into the air. Golden magic surged around her, and as she leaped, the sun rose into the sky, its radiance setting off Celestia's figure to look majestic and ethereal.

Hmm, didn't understand a thing. This kind of complex magic really couldn't be figured out just by watching.

But to be fair, she is really beautiful.

After all, she was a supermodel of beauty. Even if Aurora didn't learn anything on this trip, she felt it was worth the price of admission!

Well, the Summer Sun Celebration actually didn't charge admission. Aurora saying that was just to express her feelings about seeing The Grand Princess.

Back to the topic, to understand the principles of this kind of magic with a divine nature, one really had to ask the person who cast it.

So the question was, how should she ask humbly, so that Celestia wouldn't think she had intentions of usurping the throne.

Hmm... so better to give up. She felt that if The Grand Princess were really willing to teach her, she would conversely start to panic.

Celestia retracted her magic and landed back on the stage, waving to the crowd. Her gaze also scanned the crowd of ponies below, finally resting on Aurora.

That little one really came.

It had been a long time; this child had grown up a lot, but the way she looked at her was still as pure as when they first met. Even without relying on a cutie mark, Celestia could recognize her just by her eyes.

From Aurora's gaze, she couldn't feel any fear of a superior, only admiration and adoration. This made Celestia feel that they would certainly get along very well.

She had heard that Aurora was already preparing for the entrance exam for the School for Gifted Unicorns; perhaps she should consider taking on a new student?

She could keep Sunset Shimmer company; that way, maybe Sunset Shimmer could also learn new things from it.

"Did The Grand Princess just look at me?"

Aurora thought, then glanced at the purple Foal beside her who had not yet recovered.

"Or was she looking at this Twilight Sparkle (doubtful) beside me?"

Watching Princess Celestia leave, the Summer Sun Celebration came to an end. The Canterlot crowd, having seen the excitement, began to disperse in an orderly manner.

Aurora reached out her hoof and shook the still-dazed purple Foal, reminding her to hurry back home to her mother.

"Wow! Did you see that? That was so beautiful! Magic is just amazing! If only I could be as handy with magic as she is when I use it..."

Seeing the purple Foal's reaction after coming back to her senses, Aurora nodded, looking at her with an expression of "a child worth teaching," acknowledging her aesthetics and taste.

As long as you like magic and The Grand Princess, then we are on the same side.

"By the way, my name is Twilight Sparkle! Thank you for letting me have some space earlier, otherwise I might have missed such a beautiful scene!"

"Aurora."

"Hello, Aurora! Wait, this name sounds a bit familiar..."

How could it not be familiar? She was once a well-known figure, but now the hype had passed, and since their mothers were close, it was normal to have heard of her.

However, Aurora didn't intend to bring up her past. To her, there was really nothing worth mentioning about it.

Now that her guess had been verified, Aurora and Twilight Sparkle bumped hooves in a friendly manner. This was both a greeting and a farewell; after all, the excitement was over, and a person of taste should go home to practice magic now.
