Chapter 78 - Chapter 78 – A God Falls with One Punch

Infinity Stones were never meant for ordinary hands.

Since the birth of the universe, these six cosmic treasures had passed through countless civilizations and rulers. Over the endless ages, many had possessed them, yet very few had truly understood what they held. Most people simply treated them as rare artifacts or priceless decorations, never realizing the terrifying power hidden within.

For countless millennia, no one had managed to completely master the six Infinity Stones.

Only one being had come close.

Thanos.

Through a mysterious revelation he received long ago, the Titan had glimpsed the secrets behind the stones and discovered several unique ways to wield their power. His knowledge allowed him to manipulate them more effectively than anyone else who had ever touched them.

Yun Chen suspected that even the design of the Infinity Gauntlet had originated from that revelation.

Unfortunately for Thanos, that legendary weapon had already fallen into Yun Chen's hands.

And now the Space Stone—another treasure the Titan had desperately wanted—had also been taken from him.

Click.

The moment Yun Chen fully synchronized with the stone, the faint cosmic connection between the gem and Thanos was completely severed.

"This makes two."

Yun Chen smiled faintly.

So far, his progress had been excellent.

Power and Space.

Out of the six Infinity Stones, he now possessed two.

Unlike Thanos, Yun Chen had no desire to wipe out half the life in the universe. He had no grand obsession with cosmic balance or genocidal ideology. Because of that, his motivation to collect every Infinity Stone wasn't particularly strong.

However, if collecting them meant sabotaging Thanos's plan, then Yun Chen was more than happy to interfere.

Stealing treasures right out of the Titan's hands was a surprisingly entertaining pastime.

More importantly, the Space Stone would be incredibly useful for the strategic expansion of the Kryptonian Empire.

The stone's power over spatial movement alone would revolutionize interstellar logistics.

"I will never allow you to steal the Space Stone!"

The angry voice interrupted Yun Chen's thoughts.

He turned his head slightly and looked toward the speaker with mild curiosity.

Thor stood several meters away, gripping Mjolnir tightly in both hands.

"You're talking to me?" Yun Chen asked calmly.

"Of course I am," Thor replied, his voice filled with anger.

His grip on the hammer tightened as he glared at Yun Chen.

At the same time, Thor suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. His eyes instinctively shifted toward another figure nearby.

It was the woman with glowing red eyes.

The one who had knocked him flying earlier.

Seeing her cold, expressionless gaze locked onto him, Thor immediately raised his guard. He had no intention of being caught off guard like last time.

"There won't be another chance," Thor muttered quietly.

Then he lifted his chin and spoke firmly.

"The Space Stone is extremely dangerous," he said. "The reason so many powerful beings have begun paying attention to Earth is because humans recklessly experimented with its energy."

Thor's voice grew more serious as he continued.

"Earth cannot safeguard something like this. I will take the Space Stone back to Asgard where it can be properly protected."

It was actually a reasonable statement.

After the events of the first Avengers conflict, Thor had indeed taken the Tesseract back to Asgard for safekeeping.

"And the war is over," Thor added. "I will also take the mastermind behind this invasion back with me."

His eyes shifted toward Loki.

Loki immediately rolled his eyes and deliberately avoided meeting his brother's gaze.

"Hold on," one of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents protested. "Loki committed crimes on our planet. He invaded Earth. Why should he be taken away by—"

Before he could finish, Agent Phil Coulson shot him a sharp look that instantly silenced him.

Truthfully, most people present understood the political situation.

Even Tony Stark, who normally never missed an opportunity to argue, stayed quiet this time. Thor had fought hard during the battle, and no one wanted to risk offending the powerful kingdom of Asgard.

But Yun Chen simply smiled.

"What you do with Loki doesn't concern me," he said casually. "But the Space Stone… I'm afraid that belongs to me now."

His voice remained calm.

The tone was almost gentle.

But the meaning behind the words was incredibly domineering.

The message was simple.

If you don't like it, try and take it.

"Bastard!"

Thor exploded with anger.

Without another word, he rushed forward, swinging Mjolnir.

The Asgardians valued courage, wine, and battle. In many ways, they were a race of warriors driven by pride and impulse. Being openly challenged like this made it impossible for Thor to remain calm.

Electricity crackled across the battlefield.

As Thor charged forward, he swung Mjolnir upward and launched himself into the air. Lightning erupted around his body as he descended from above like a divine thunderbolt.

Boom.

Thunder roared across the sky.

For a brief moment, the power of Odin seemed to flicker faintly around him.

"Wow!"

"Is that really Thor from Norse mythology?"

"I can't believe it! The legends are actually real!"

Excited whispers spread through the crowd of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents watching from a distance. Even the usually calm sorcerers from the Sanctum paused to observe the scene unfolding before them.

The sight of the thunder god descending in a storm was undeniably impressive.

Loki, however, simply sneered.

"Idiot."

He shook his head with open contempt.

After all these years, his brother still hadn't learned anything. Yun Chen had just forced Thanos himself to retreat, and yet Thor still thought he could win through brute force.

Where exactly did that confidence come from?

The fool was as stubborn as a pig.

High above the ground, Thor's power surged violently.

Lightning spiraled around his body as Mjolnir descended toward Yun Chen's head with overwhelming force.

But Yun Chen remained completely calm.

He simply raised his fist.

Then he punched forward.

Bang.

The collision happened in an instant.

A massive shockwave exploded outward as fist and hammer met in midair. The ground cracked under the impact, and the surrounding buildings trembled as the pressure spread across the street.

A moment later, a scream erupted from the center of the blast.

"Ahhh!!"

Thor's face twisted in agony.

The force that traveled through his arm was so overwhelming that his vision blurred instantly. His muscles spasmed violently as the impact ripped through his body.

For a split second, he felt as if the entire world was spinning.

Because he had already been sent flying.

His body shot backward like a torn sandbag thrown through the air.

Even Mjolnir was knocked loose from his grip.

His right hand went completely numb, every nerve temporarily paralyzed by the overwhelming force.

Boom.

Thor crashed into a distant street and smashed straight through the wall of a house.

The entire battlefield fell silent.

Then the crowd erupted.

"What just happened?"

"Thor lost… just like that?"

"In one move?"

The onlookers stared in disbelief.

The mighty thunder god who had just looked so unstoppable had been defeated in the blink of an eye. Most people hadn't even seen Yun Chen move clearly before the battle was already over.

Meanwhile, Mjolnir itself fell from the sky.

Boom.

The legendary hammer struck the ground, carving a massive crater into the pavement.

The surrounding spectators hurriedly stepped back, avoiding the weapon with nervous caution.

But then someone noticed something strange.

"Wait… look at the hammer."

"It's missing a piece."

The edge of the legendary weapon had been chipped during the collision.

"I thought this thing was indestructible," another agent said in disbelief. "Back when S.H.I.E.L.D. found it in New Mexico, no one could even move it."

That had happened when Odin had temporarily banished Thor to Earth.

Mjolnir had landed in the New Mexico desert, attracting the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who tried unsuccessfully to lift it.

But now the supposedly unbreakable weapon had been damaged.

Everyone slowly turned their eyes toward Yun Chen.

Their expressions were stiff with fear.

According to protocol, they should have already raised their weapons.

But every instinct in their bodies screamed that doing so would be suicidal.

"My God…" Tony Stark muttered quietly.

Even Iron Man looked completely stunned.

Yun Chen calmly surveyed the silent crowd surrounding him.

Then he spoke again.

"Does anyone still doubt my right to take the stone?"
