Chapter 56 - Apologetic talks

Waking up and then going on the ktchen table makes me feel like I never left from the place in the first place.

I drink a cup of water, from the pitcher on the table, Steel bought it before, and brought it out today, Marcilene filled the pitcher with water as I asked her to and then went right back to sleep.

I on the other hand had awoken earlier already and been given permission, fro another free day to get myself together with Wes, Sply nodded, saying:

"You learned Soul Displacement rather fast. And I have some things to take care of as well so, have another free day."

Then she walked off, and I've done nothing besides sit at this place and. Wonder what to tell Wes when I go over to him and talk to him and apologize about yesterday.

The sun is now up, after sitting here, for a long while.

My head just stuck with the idea about how bad or good the apology will be to Wes.

I end up finishing the entirety of the pitcher of water and end up trying to pour empty air into my cup.

I lean my head back on the chair and take a deep breathe.

"God how will this conversation go."

My heart is thumping very loudly in my head and for some reason it's very loud.

"Damn... this is harder than when I had to shoot that damn bear."

I say with a slight chuckle.

"Just go and say sorry."

Marcilene says her ears stretching just as she body does, twitching with every step down the stairs. Her orange aura, following her outstretched arms and staying there.

Hair still very messy as she comes down. no longer in the same bun she had it in this morning.

"Yeah, easy for you. You didn't freak out at Elsa."

"And?"

She makes it to the last step and continues over to me, sitting on the other side of me.

"It'll be easy, just stop by the house and apologize."

"I'm not sure, that I could very easily do that."

"Yeah, you can shot a Soul Bear and wake up the next day, but can't say sorry to your childhood friend."

Her aura spiking the same as when she laughs, when she says that sarcastic line.

"I was just saying that!"

"Oh my days, you might just be a cry baby."

"You really did change as you got older."

"I'm no going to let a scaredy cat tell me that."

"Like I'm going to let a girl, with some hair in her mouth tell me I'm a scaredy cat."

"What?"

She said very much intimidating for an older sister. Her ears twitching a bit as she says that.

"I'm sorry, I'll go now."

"You better."

I get up and head toward the door, passing the bow that's beside it and putting on my sandals, as I straighten my shirt and go out, pushing past the front door, to the gate, then the dirt pathway.

All that doesn't take long since I have the heated vision of Marcilene on my back.

'For a girl that only knows fashion, she is really scary.'

I think to myself as I see all the people outside, their glowing array of auras and the inability to stop my vision from wandering all over the place. As I spot the same rock, that is given the name of Golem ofErical.

Kids all happy and giddy in the morning after a strong rainy night that was happeneing. The sun now high up, burning away all the water that was in the soil.

I continue walking and head toward Wes' house.

Looking around, with nothing on my eye to stop me from doing so. My body feels calm compared to before, or compared to yesterday, all I needed was a good talk, but... the thought of Apatite leaving is weird for me...

'I hope the best for Apa, Yelena and Prag... Hopefully she ends up with more friends than just.'

As I say that I end up bumping into a small kid, that was stanced up in front of me.

"I still want to know what makes your friend so different from us."

The little dark-skinned girl asks once more, her curly hair flowing off by her sides. And her purple aura on her body passive as she just stands looking at me, completely ignoring that I bumped into her.

"I'm sorry Daisy."

"Daisy!"

A woman comes rushing by to the girl's side and grabs he shoulders.

A dark skinned woman as well, green aura and a hair, exactly the same as Daisy's comes and grabs her.

She stands taller than me as well, towering over me, for now, but not when I get older.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Daisy is usually very shy and too scared to move away from me, I'm sorry."

"No it's okay. She just wanted to ask me something."

"Okay... Please hurry Daisy. The little boy is busy."

'Yeah, I'm a little boy.'

"Why is your friend different?"

"Well, because she thinks she doesn't have nice ears, but I think they are cool. The way she acts is what she thinks would scare people away from talking to her, but that's not true, and since she doesn't usually have much social interactions, she thinks everything she does is weird..."

"So, she thinks she weird?"

Daisy asks and looks at me with a curious look.

"Yeah... she thought that she was weird, but she was really cool too, she helped me learn Soul Energy, Soul Displacement, and made me calm a good amount of times."

"So, she was weird cool?"

I let out a little chuckle as I stare at the purple aura of the little girl in front of me.

"Yeah, I guess in a way, that's how it is."

The woman, carries Daisy into her arms, since she is still pretty young she is a light carry.

"Thank you for indulging my daughter in her little tangent."

"No problem. Thank you for letting her talk to me."

We both wave to each other and I follow my pathway back to Wes' house.

Not noticing the lingering vision of Daisy on me.

'Why did it take me forever to figure out what Apa was on about... And now she's gone and married, I fumbled the ball at the end zone.'

I crouch down and rub my head heavily.

'Why what the... NO I DIDN'T SHUT UP LAZULI!"

Jumping up, I continue walking ignoring the growing thought in my mind.

Soon, I end up at Wes and Rez house, seeing them both sparring outside.

Wes continues to try and defend but never makes progress. Rez brings the sword down like before copying how he did it before but this time, following through. Wes doesn't drop his guard instead he moves forward and lets the sword slide and the edge of the sword making it get stuck on the hilt of the sword before getting closer.

Wes transfers his weight to his back leg and lift his forward leg, ready to kick it into Rez abdoman.

Rez pulls back quickly and repositions himself.

He holds the sword in like he's about to backhand a ball in tennis, the edge pointed down, for a slight second. Before he does a slash at the air in front of Wes. Giving him a small time frame to dadge, but with how his leg is in the air, ready to kick, and no way to pull the weight back.

Rez kits Wes' leg with the greatest amount of force it looks like he could possibly exert with his arms. And Wes flips and falls to the ground, like he unsuccessful tried to front flip.

He drops and holds the sword and grass in to opposing hands.

The fight had their auras so amazing flowing it was like a firefly show in broad daylihgt, but for me only.

Wes' body stays slumped and doesn't move instead of getting up, he moans and groans on the ground and stays there.

"You'll get to hitting me soon son, but for now. I think you'll need a tad bit more training before you manage to do that."

Rez says as he gets close to Wes and pats his back.

Wes groans once more as his aura looks like it's going into the ground like he's trying to retreat into it as well.

But on the other hand, Rez's aura is glowing brightly.

"Rez. We're on patrol!"

A familiar booming voice comes from behind me.

"Hey Lazi."

Steel says to me as he waves over Rez, getting both of their attention.

"Yeah, give me a moment."

Rez says something to Wes and he's already off over here, jogging toward the wall, then hopping over it.

"Hey, you two don't go fighting now, but if you do don't kill each other."

I let out a force laughter and hope he doesn't see the nervousness in my very stiffled arms.

"Yeah."

Rez looks up to Steel and they both go on about their way as they both pat my shoulder.

Wes is up and dusting himself off. Grass and clumps of dirt flying off of his everything and landing back onto the ground as he mutters something.

Pushing through the gate I head to him.

"Hey."

"Yeah what's up?"

He said casual, as if yesterday didn't happen.

"I came to apologize to you for…"

"Yesterday? Nah, it's okay, I didn't even know that would be bad for you. Your dad told us that the Strongest of Squea is a woman that was going to kidnap not only you but Marcilene as well. So, I guess it's understandable as to why you'd be angry."

"Wow, you accepted my apology pretty fast."

"Yeah, but I am mad at you for one thing."

"What?"

"Why did you get aggressive with me?"

His blue aura wavers as if being moved by the wind.

"I… I don't know, I was just angry in the moment."

"Oh, well. It's okay anyway…"

He pauses for a second stifling a laugh.

"I would have beat you."

I let out a forced laugh.

"What?!"

I shake my head.

"That's a funny thing for you to say."

I finish my earlier thought.

"What, you think you have a better shot against me?"

"No, because last I checked you were the same person that said we would protect each other instead of sparring."

He scrunched his nose and tilts his head.

"Times change, we are both now stronger."

"Stronger? Me yes, you still can't out maneuver you father."

"I'd like you to try tough guy."

"You mad that I can atleast manage to fight something and win?"

"Okay. Let's go tough guy, let's spar."

I squint my eyes at him and nod.

"Okay, but how would I even spar against you? I don't use a sword, I use a bow."

His blue aura spikes.

"Yeah that's true."

"We could use the real things."

"What? We'd tear up my yard."

"No… I have a place in mind."

He squints his eyes and scratches the nape of his neck.

"Okay. I'll play your game."

Wes goes into his house and takes about fifteen minutes as he switches not only his weapon, but his clothing as well, wearing leather armor, light but still armor around his body.

And a steel sword, from the way that the hilt looks like compared to the other wooden sword that both Wes and Rez used to spare.

"This is a back up sword that's my dad has, he'll be fine with me using it."

"So you're going to use armor, you little freaking cheater."

We both walk out the gate and head to my house.

"You don't have any armor?"

"Nope, I've always just had to raw dog every fight."

"And tell me how many have those been?"

His aura wavers as if macking me along with him.

'Goddamn he has me stumped.'

I tilt my head.

"Maybe fifty."

"You're a liar."

We walk past many people on the way to my house, soon we end up there and it take me a quick moment in and out, grabbing my bow, waving to Marcilene and going back out.

"Marcilene inside?"

Wes asks as I come back out. His voice sounding a bit scared to ask, but his aura bright as he does ask.

"Dude, I can understand…"

I pause for a quick moment as we continue walking:

"…that you have feelings for her, but man, if you aren't going to commit to telling her don't think about asking her."

"What makes you think..?"

"Dude, me and Elsa know how you feel."

"Elsa?"

"Yeah."

"Anyway. Point is we know that you like her, so if you don't commit to telling her, don't ask me about her."

I pause.

"Or do so, I'm not your dad."

We pause in front of Warren Forest.

"You don't plan to make me fight a bear now, do you?"

I chuckle.

"Let's hope we don't, I hated having to do that."

"So what are we doing here."

"This is the entrance to the place I'm talking about."

I smile as I begin to walk into the trees, pushing past shrubs to enter the forest.

Then I stop to turn.

"Dude. If you don't hurry I'm going to leave you standing there."

He groans.

"Better not leave me."

"I won't, but yeah just keep close it can be easy to get lost in these woods."

Both of us push through the darkness of the forest as Wes sticks pretty close to me since the darkness is easy to make anyone get lost in this place.

Soon we enter a place that is so familiar to myself, all the while I feel a sense of serenity.

"Dang, this is a very nice place."

Wes says as he steps widely over a bush.

"Yup!"

"So how are we going to do this?"

Wes says as I continue up the hill.

"Well, why don't we get ready first."

I say at the top of the hill as I unsling my bow from my arm and pull the strings very softly.

Feeling the sigil on the grip, and turning it to my vision. And seeing faint color coming off of it, the same color as the arrows I manifest when I tap it.

"Okay."

Wes says with a smile as he in sheathes the sword, holding the sheathed in his hand.

"You ready..?"
