Inside the Shadow King's Royal Palace, the atmosphere was eerie and oppressive.
As Cedric Agrippa unleashed his Fire Dragon Flame Bullet infused with Yang Chakra, the black shadow demons wrapped around William Vangeance's retainers let out piercing shrieks, rapidly melting and disintegrating like snow under the blazing sun.
This was not merely physical fire, but Chakra flames mixed with life energy, specifically designed to counter these undead creatures formed from dark magic.
As the smoke and dust gradually cleared, William Vangeance's hand gripping his longsword trembled slightly. It was not fear, but shock. As someone closely tied to the Wizard King, he had seen countless records and ancient magic, yet he had never witnessed such a bizarre and overwhelming power.
"That flame can actually burn the soul of a shadow demon. Who exactly are you?" Vangeance asked, staring intently at Cedric's back.
Cedric ignored the question. He frowned slightly, sensing the lingering Chakra in the air. The dissipating shadow demons had not completely vanished. Instead, they transformed into faint wisps of black gas, slowly seeping into the cracks of the stone floor.
"Trying to run?"
Cedric stepped forward, his figure flashing like a phantom as he reached the ground. Forming a hand seal with one hand, he pressed his palm down.
"Sealing Jutsu: Absorption Seal."
The black gas was instantly drawn into the sealing mark in his palm like a magnet.
"Done."
Cedric stood up and clapped his hands lightly before turning toward the Black Bulls, who were still stunned.
"Don't just stand there. Luck, Magna, move."
Luck snapped out of it and grinned excitedly, "Cedric, that move was insane. You wiped them out like they were nothing."
Magna adjusted his glasses, his tone sharp with analysis, "Cedric's power doesn't follow normal magic rules. He's not overpowering magic. He's breaking it down and countering it directly."
Noelle stepped closer, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Cedric, "Cedric, that was incredible. I knew coming with you was the right choice."
Cedric glanced at her, letting his gaze linger just a second longer than necessary, then smirked, "Of course you did. Stick close to me and I'll make sure you stay safe. Wouldn't want anything happening to a princess like you."
Noelle flushed slightly but quickly turned her head, trying to hide it.
Asta scratched his head, gripping his sword as he spoke loudly, "Hey, don't act like you're the only one who can fight. I was about to jump in too."
Cedric chuckled, "Yeah, yeah, the Black Bulls' loudest idiot. Try to keep up."
Then his expression shifted, his gaze sharpening as he looked deeper into the palace.
"Stay alert. The real problem is ahead. I can feel a massive Chakra presence deeper inside. That's the core of this place."
The group continued forward.
The deeper they went, the more ancient and complex the runes on the walls became. The curse power in the air grew heavier, pressing down like an invisible weight. Any normal Magic Knight would struggle to even breathe here.
For Cedric, however, it felt almost natural.
"System, activate Sage Mode perception."
In an instant, natural energy flooded into his body. The world shifted in his vision, turning into layers of gray-white and pale purple. Every movement, every flow of magic became visible to him.
"Turn left. Ambush ahead, fifty meters," Cedric said quietly.
Before his words even settled, the ground cracked open. Massive black stone arms erupted upward, slamming toward the group.
"I've got this!" Asta shouted, Anti-Magic coating his swords as he swung forward, "Black Hurricane Cross Slash!"
The massive cross-shaped attack shattered the stone arms, but countless shadow demons surged out from the debris, surrounding them.
"Too many," Luck muttered, lightning crackling around him.
The battle was about to erupt, but Cedric suddenly raised his hand.
"Wait."
His eyes narrowed as he studied the enemies.
"These aren't just monsters."
He could feel it clearly now. Beneath the violent magic, there was a faint trace of human presence.
"They're people. Their souls have been devoured and twisted."
His mind connected the dots instantly. This magic interfered with the soul itself.
"Asta, don't destroy them. Strip the magic from their bodies using your Anti-Magic."
Asta blinked, blocking attacks as he shouted back, "How am I supposed to do that?"
"Trust your instincts. Do it the same way you train."
Cedric formed hand seals quickly.
"Summoning Jutsu."
A massive cloud of smoke burst outward. When it cleared, a giant toad wearing sunglasses and holding nunchaku appeared.
"Where the hell did you drag me this time, kid?" the toad croaked.
"Gamabunta, less talking," Cedric said as he jumped onto his head, "Knock them all down. I need them alive."
Gamabunta grinned, "Now that sounds fun."
He inhaled deeply before unleashing a barrage of spinning oil bullets. The shadow demons were blasted back, their formation instantly broken.
Taking advantage of the opening, Cedric brought his hands together and closed his eyes.
"If your souls are trapped in this darkness, I'll drag you back out."
"Genjutsu: False Surroundings."
An invisible wave spread across the entire hall. The shadow demons froze mid-motion, their glowing eyes flickering as they struggled.
"Now, Asta!"
"Got it!"
Asta crossed his swords and released a surge of Anti-Magic.
"Anti-Magic: Devour!"
The dark magic was pulled out of the shadow demons, flowing into his swords. As the corruption faded, human bodies collapsed onto the ground.
The missing Magic Knights had been saved.
Silence fell over the battlefield.
William Vangeance stepped forward slowly, staring at the unconscious knights with disbelief.
"You actually saved them."
Cedric didn't respond. His focus was on the system notifications flashing before his eyes.
Asta's Anti-Magic and his Chakra had resonated.
A new power had been unlocked.
Planetary Devastation.
Cedric's eyes gleamed slightly.
Before he could think further, a deafening roar echoed through the palace. The massive gate at the deepest part burst open.
A terrifying pressure filled the air.
A cold voice followed.
"Hehehe, I didn't expect to find something so interesting in a place like this."
Cedric lifted his head, his gaze locking forward as if piercing through the distance.
"So we finally meet."
A slow smile spread across his face.
"The Shadow King."
He cracked his neck slightly, excitement building in his eyes.
"Looks like things are about to get interesting."
Behind him, the Black Bulls gathered.
Asta raised his swords.
Noelle summoned her Water Magic.
Luck grinned as lightning danced around him.
Cedric stepped forward.
"Let's tear this place apart."
