Leon calmly looked at Banner.
Banner, however, understood the meaning in his eyes.
It was a signal to loosen the reins.
Banner nodded.
Then, he took a deep breath, suppressing the tension in his heart.
He already understood why Leon had brought him here.
That's right, this was to establish dominance.
Leon might not want to act himself, but someone had to.
And he, or rather, the Hulk, was the most suitable candidate.
This was giving him an opportunity to prove himself.
Banner no longer hesitated; he took a step forward, then turned back to Sersi and Crystal with a smile.
"Ladies. I suggest you stand back a bit. Really, for the sake of your hearing."
Then, he closed his eyes.
The next second.
Rage began to awaken within him.
"Roar!!!"
An angry roar quickly echoed through the hall, deafening, making people instinctively cover their ears.
Banner's body rapidly expanded, his shirt and pants tearing apart inch by inch as his muscles grew.
His height broke two and a half meters in just a few seconds.
The Hulk, had arrived.
The Deviants, halfway through its pounce, seemed to sense something was wrong, and its movements showed a slight hesitation.
And it was this slight hesitation that sealed its fate.
The Hulk wasn't in a usual frenzy.
Though rage burned in his eyes, there was a calm deep within that rage.
He ignored the terrified crowd, his gaze fixed on what was ahead.
Then, he moved.
No unnecessary movements, just a simple right hook.
Bang!!!
A dull, massive thud.
The Hulk's fist landed squarely on the monster's side face.
Time seemed to slow down.
Everyone could clearly see the monster's ugly head begin to dent inwards at an exaggerated angle, its tentacles instantly bursting, blood and unknown bodily fluids rapidly gushing out.
Immediately after, its massive body was sent flying backward!
With a crash!
The monster smashed through another wall and disappeared from everyone's sight.
The chaotic hall suddenly fell silent.
Sersi, Crystal, and Dane looked at the Hulk with varying expressions.
Dane felt his legs had already turned to jelly.
He swore he never wanted to come to a museum again in his life.
It was too dangerous here, more dangerous than Gotham City!
Sersi and Crystal were a bit bewildered.
The Sun god appeared, then the Hulk from TV appeared.
Then the Deviants also appeared.
What was happening?!
Most importantly, after the Hulk sent the Deviants flying, he didn't continue to destroy things.
He quickly turned, his angry eyes looking in Leon's direction, emitting a low growl from his throat, seemingly waiting for the next command.
What was this? Was the Hulk his subordinate?
Doesn't that roughly equate to Ikaris being his subordinate?
Well, Ikaris was already not enough to look at.
Leon showed a satisfied expression at the Hulk's performance.
He slowly walked in front of Sersi and Crystal; they instinctively took a step back, fearing Leon would strike without a word, like last time.
The smile on Leon's face remained gentle.
"Now, do you understand?"
"There's a difference between monsters and monsters."
"The difference lies in who controls them."
Sersi remained silent.
Thousands of years ago, they first understood what despair meant.
And now, he was back.
Though she didn't know if he was here to cause trouble.
Crystal tightly gripped Sersi's arm, avoiding Leon's gaze.
Dane finally understood.
Sersi and her sister didn't seem to be ordinary people?
And that big green guy, hadn't he only appeared in the U.S. recently?
How did he get to London?
Dane's brain completely crashed.
Banner's feeling at this moment was also very strange.
The rage within him was still burning, the source of the Hulk's power.
But unlike before, the rage hadn't consumed his reason.
Under Leon's aura, the Hulk's anger seemed to find an outlet to vent.
He could feel that his consciousness, belonging to Bruce Banner, was clearly observing everything.
"OK, cool."
Banner was somewhat delighted.
"So my new job is to play Godzilla, specializing in demolition and intimidation? Sounds not bad, actually?
At least it's much more exciting than hiding in Kolkata. I just don't know if there's employee insurance and paid annual leave."
He looked at Sersi and Crystal's terrified expressions, a feeling of shared misery welling up in his heart.
Yes, he understood that feeling too well.
How to put it, welcome to the Leon Victim Alliance, ladies.
Leon's gaze lingered on Sersi's face for a moment, then he waved his hand at the Hulk.
"Alright, Bruce, change back." His tone was relaxed.
"Roar…"
The Hulk let out a dissatisfied growl, seemingly wanting to maintain his powerful form.
Leon glanced at him indifferently.
Alright, the Hulk quickly deflated.
Then, the Hulk rapidly shrunk, his muscles dissipating, and his green skin fading.
Soon, the Hulk transformed back into the somewhat thin Bruce Banner, wearing black-rimmed glasses.
Banner awkwardly scratched his head, looking around, trying to find his shirt, which had turned into rags.
"Fuck!"
His heart was wailing.
"I knew it! It's always like this! I need clothes that will never tear!"
Sersi and Crystal's brows furrowed even tighter.
Leon was even more unfathomable than he was thousands of years ago.
"Alright, now that the troublesome guys are all cleaned up." Leon's gaze returned to Sersi.
"Let's talk about serious business."
He slowly walked to a relatively intact display case, gently running his finger over a thin layer of dust on the glass.
"I'm very curious, Sersi." His voice was still gentle.
"Did Arishem the Judge ever tell you what the ultimate outcome of your mission to protect humanity is?"
Arishem the Judge!
Sersi was somewhat surprised.
He even knew the God's name!
"I don't understand what you're talking about." Sersi calmly replied.
"Don't understand?" Leon chuckled softly, he turned around, his eyes filled with pity.
"Then I'll put it more plainly."
"The reason this Planet can give birth to prosperous intelligent life is because a seed is gestating deep within its core. You are also very familiar with it; it is the seed of the Celestials."
"And your task is to ensure that the population of this Planet, that is, the energy of intelligent life, reaches a threshold.
The reason for doing this is to provide enough nutrients for this seed to sprout."
His tone suddenly shifted.
"The Celestial in the ground is called Tiamut. The moment this new God breaks out of its shell, that is when this Planet will be destroyed."
"They call this process, the Emergence."
Silence.
Still silence.
Sersi:???
Dane no longer understood what they were talking about, what God, what seed, what destruction.
