The conflict between the two forces caused Ma Dan-na to lose control over her divine body. Sensing the danger, she tried to project her Primordial Spirit to seek help from her aunts using Ma family Daoist arts. However, the moment she activated her Primordial Spirit, the tiny particles exerted a powerful devouring force, dragging it deep within.
Once her Primordial Spirit was pulled in, the particles formed an array that trapped her, simultaneously beginning to consume the power within her divine body.
In the physical world, blood began to leak from Ma Dan-na's seven orifices, and a bloody mist erupted from her skin periodically. She looked incredibly wretched.
Right then, a ray of starlight fell from the heavens and merged into her body. Upon the arrival of this starlight, her injuries worsened, yet they also began to heal bit by bit.
After an unknown amount of time, a mysterious aura of power appeared on Ma Dan-na. Once this aura manifested, numerous energies similar to it fell from the sky, carrying a sense of consciousness as they merged into her.
If Qiu Xia or a member of the Pangu Clan were here, they would certainly recognize what this was. This was the culprit of the My Date with a Vampire world: Destiny. In the original series, Destiny was the Heavenly Dao; in this mixed world, it was the "little brother" of the Heavenly Dao. But regardless of the world, Destiny's power was formidable.
However, once this powerful force entered Ma Dan-na's body, things took a turn for the worse.
Before Destiny had injected its new strength, the array formed by the particles had only been resisting the Destiny within Ma Dan-na's body. But once Destiny was drawn in and invested its power, a change occurred.
The array within Ma Dan-na activated, devouring the starlight and Destiny's power at an even faster rate. As it consumed Destiny, it released Cheung San's aura, transforming into a mental energy that destroyed the will of Destiny carried within that power.
Realizing it had been trapped, Destiny tried to withdraw its power, only to find it impossible. The Destiny bloodline within Ma Dan-na had become like a parasite, relentlessly draining its strength.
Under these circumstances, Destiny had no choice but to increase its power input, hoping to clear away the mysterious array and the Pangu Clan aura. But it found that the array only grew stronger as it absorbed the starlight and Destiny's own energy.
If Destiny could interfere from the outside, it might have found a way to block the starlight. But at this moment, it was completely anchored by the array, lacking the strength to interfere externally.
During the month-long stalemate, the particles spread throughout her entire being. Then, following a massive influx of starlight, the array within Ma Dan-na exploded with a surge of energy. It drove the Pangu Clan aura and the will of Destiny out of her body, leaving Cheung San's bloodline and the Destiny bloodline to mix, forming a bloodline unique to Ma Dan-na alone.
"Roar!"
As the array purged the zombie aura and the will of Destiny, Ma Dan-na woke up. Her once clear eyes were now a pale purple. At the same time, a powerful presence, no weaker than a first-generation zombiea member of the Pangu Clanerupted from her.
Having been forced out and suffering a massive loss of power and control over Ma Dan-na, Destiny did not dare linger. It quickly vanished into hiding.
Following Ma Dan-na's roar, the eyes of the monsters, ghosts, gods, and Immortals atop Mount Kunlun, within the Underworld, and across the vast land of China all turned toward her location.
"I... I've turned into a zombie!" After her roar, Ma Dan-na regained her senses and realized the changes in herself, as well as the information that had suddenly appeared in her mind.
That information detailed her new bloodline, her supernatural abilities, and the message Qiu Xia had left behind.
The reason Ma Dan-na had become like this was entirely due to Qiu Xia's meddling. Previously, Qiu Xia had obtained a great deal of blood from Fong Tin-yau and Fong Fuk-sang to refine pills, and he had hidden an array within them that he had developed through several technique upgrades.
Because of this array, Ma Dan-na hadn't detected the zombie bloodline within the pills. Furthermore, every time she fought Cheung San, the array collected his will and aura. Once Ma Dan-na had consumed all the pills, the array unfolded, triggering her transformation.
Because the Ma family carried the bloodline of Destiny, if a member were bitten by a zombie, they would turn into a special Purple-eyed Zombie, losing their mind and becoming a crazed monster. This was caused by the interference of the Destiny bloodline and Destiny itself, making such Purple-eyed Zombies the perfect puppets for Destiny.
The array was designed to ensure that when Ma Dan-na turned into a zombie, she would escape Destiny's control and become a sane zombie. After all, Qiu Xia didn't want the next time he saw Ma Dan-na for her to be a "gas tank" ready to explode.
What Qiu Xia hadn't expected was just how powerful the array he left behind would be. By relying on its connection to the grand array in the outside world, it had not only purged the will of the Pangu Clan and Destiny but had also dealt Destiny a heavy blow. Destiny had lost so much energy it was forced into a restorative slumber; it was unknown how long it would be before it woke again.
Upon learning the truth about her family and her current state, Ma Dan-na felt lost and overwhelmed. She never expected that the Ma family had spent generations hunting members of the Pangu Clanthe very race that had created the world.
Furthermore, the hunt they took so seriously had been nothing more than a little farce to the other side; they had never even been serious. Understanding this, Ma Dan-na finally realized why she had always managed to escape safely after failing to defeat Cheung San, rather than dying at his hands.
After a long period of confusion, a thought suddenly struck her. "Even though the truth makes me feel lost, the most important thing right now is to settle the score with that bastard Qiu Xia! That guy... he actually did this to me! He turned me into a zombie without my consent! I have to find that bastard and give him a piece of my mind."
With that thought, Ma Dan-na's confusion vanished. She hurried toward Red Creek Village. Before her transformation, the journey would have taken her nearly a month. Now, it took her less than a day to arrive.
However, upon reaching the village, she didn't sense Qiu Xia's aura. Instead, she sensed a second-generation zombie.
When she reached the source of the aura and saw the second-generation zombie, Ma Dan-na was stunned. "Sister Sau?"
Seeing Ma Dan-na suddenly appear, a flicker of unease and panic crossed Ah Sau's face. But then she remembered the information Qiu Xia had left: as long as a zombie didn't transform, it was impossible to be detected unless the other party was of a higher rank or far stronger. She quickly composed herself. "Miss Ma? What brings you here?"
Ma Dan-na stared at Ah Sau for a long time before asking, "Sister Sau, when did you turn into a zombie?"
Ah Sau's expression changed drastically, but she tried to play it off. "What zombie? I haven't turned into any zombie..."
Ma Dan-na looked at her seriously. "Sister Sau, if I were my old self, you might have fooled me. But now..." As she spoke, Ma Dan-na's eyes glowed a pale purple, and two small fangs peeked out.
Seeing Ma Dan-na's zombie form, Ah Sau immediately felt a suppression of rank. Her own green eyes and fangs involuntarily manifested.
"Miss Ma, you... you turned into a zombie too?" Ah Sau looked at Ma Dan-na in disbelief.
"It's all because of that bastard Qiu Xia. I became a zombie and learned many things I didn't know before. By the way, where is that scoundrel? I came back specifically to settle the score with him."
Ah Sau shook her head. "I don't know where he went. After Fong Kwok-wa and Fong Fuk-sang turned into zombies and left, he left as well. Before he departed, he gave me two bottles of pills."
"He told me that if I was determined to wait for Kwok-wa, I should take the pills to become a zombie. One bottle was for the transformation, and the other was to solve my survival needs so I wouldn't have to drink blood."
Ma Dan-na frowned. "That bastard ran away? I'll catch him sooner or later. Sister Sau, show me the pills."
Ah Sau nodded and pulled the pills she always carried from her pocket. Ma Dan-na took the bottle, poured out a pill, and examined it closely. Unable to identify its components, she hesitated for a moment before popping one into her mouth.
As the pill took effect, Ma Dan-na felt a surge of vitality, life energy, and dark baleful qi dissolve within her, slightly increasing her strength.
"I didn't think that guy could refine pills so useful for zombies. Then again, the bastard could use pills to turn people into zombies, so refining this kind isn't impossible."
After a moment of reflection, Ma Dan-na handed the bottle back to Ah Sau. "At least that guy had a bit of a conscience. He even made a Spatial Treasure Bottle. If you take one of these a day, there's enough to last for several years."
Ah Sau took the bottle back and looked at Ma Dan-na hesitantly. "Miss Ma, now that you're a zombie too, why don't I share some with you? Otherwise, you'll have to drink blood."
