Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Underestimated

The Majesty Arena was alive with thousands of fans pouring into the stadium, the atmosphere buzzing in anticipation of an intense match.

In the dressing room, Jaden stood beside Coach Anderson near the tactical board. Announcing the starting lineup and substitutions.

"Coach, can you please do the honors?" Jaden asked, looking at Anderson.

"With pleasure. Uhm… Bob, Mathiba, Matlala, Hernandez, Sarr, Max, Ramothwala, Bolt, Happy, you're starting," Coach Anderson announced.

"Stick to our main formation, the way we've been playing the past few games. Remember, they have to adjust to us, not the other way around."

Bob raised his hand, and Coach Anderson nodded.

"So none of us should adjust to them?" Bob asked.

"Yoh, Bobbbbb," the team groaned in unison.

"Yes, Bob, that is exactly what I just said," Anderson replied, pressing his forehead in frustration.

Anna stood in the corner with her tablet, then pulled out her smartphone after receiving a notification. It was a text from Kamo: "I sent the images." She quickly opened them and saw pictures of herself and Jaden, hand in hand, close together.

She let out a small giggle, and everyone turned to look at her. "So sorry, guys, please continue," she said.

"Hey, look at the Caribbean Pirates' lineup," Mathiba said aloud. Everyone pulled out their phones to check.

"Is this a joke?" Jaden thought, staring at his screen.

"They've put their best players on the bench. Maybe it's tactical," Bolt suggested.

"No, they're underestimating us," Jaden said firmly. "We'll just have to show them what Nobles can do."

"Yeahhhhhh!" the team shouted in unison, while Ramsey sat quietly, saying nothing.

As the players made their way into the tunnel, Jaden led the group. They were met by Manager Wirtz.

"Hey, a pleasure to meet you. I'm Wirtz," he said, extending his hand.

Jaden shook it. "Senzo. Jaden Senzo."

"You know, Coach, they say a football club is only as strong as the bond between a head coach and the players willing to go to war for him," Wirtz remarked.

Jaden glanced at his determined players. "Well, I think me and my boys have built a strong foundation for that bond," he smiled.

"Let's see how you match up against my second team. You don't deserve to face my best players," Wirtz said, turning his back as his squad entered the tunnel.

Mathiba and Ramothwala grew angry, but Jaden raised his hand, signaling them to ignore it.

"The players are coming out of the tunnel, and the Ramsey saga continues. At least he's made the bench today," Shakes commented.

"Well, Shakes, he definitely won't play. Word is he's been spotted training with the youth team," Decent added.

"This is what happens when you have ego and attitude. No matter what, you must respect your manager," Shakes said.

"I hear you, but don't you think Jaden Senzo is being too harsh?" Decent asked.

"You have to set an example as a manager. I think he's doing the right thing," Shakes replied.

At Sosh Plata Jioh Pub, Nobles fans filled the venue, drinking and ready to watch the match.

"My life's been less stressful since we signed Senzo as manager," Ben said, holding a bottle.

"I was one of the doubters, but the kid's been awesome," Patrick admitted.

"Looks like Tau won't be watching with us today, he's probably at the stadium. Everyone, please behave. I know you support different clubs, but let's be respectful during the match," the pub owner reminded them.

On the Caribbean Pirates' bench, Grimorè stood out with his grim expression.

"That's their key player, huh? Grimorè," Anna muttered.

"That's him. He's a giant. In terms of power, Bolt doesn't stand a chance. Let me see their data," Jaden said.

Anna handed him the tablet, highlighting the Pirates' stats.

"They play attacking football too. Interesting," Jaden thought. "But why field the second team? Maybe he'll change the pace in the second half with subs."

The stadium roared as fans filled the stands, almost entirely yellow with Nobles supporters.

The referee blew the whistle, 4-3-3 holding vs. 4-3-3 attacking, an intriguing battle of formations.

The game began slowly, with neither side dominating in the first 20 minutes.

Then the Nobles picked up momentum, exchanging passes and progressing into the final third.

"And now for the cross," Happy said, swinging in a left footed delivery.

"I can reach!" Jeremy shouted, leaping to head the ball toward the left.

The goalkeeper stretched but couldn't reach. The ball hit the net. The crowd erupted. Jeremy slid on his knees at the corner flag in celebration.

"Yeaaah! We're leading!" Anna exclaimed.

"But why do I feel uneasy, like I'm about to be trapped in a corner?" Jaden muttered, arms folded in deep thought.

The game restarted with the Caribbean Pirates in possession. Unexpectedly, they sent the ball straight to the Nobles' defenders.

"Huh? Did they just give me the ball?" Bob said.

Jaden's eyes narrowed, while Wirtz smirked. "Here it comes."

The Pirates flooded the Nobles' half, pressing aggressively. Bob panicked as a player closed in. "What should I do, should I send it back to Willies?" He thought.

With no options available, everyone tightly marked, he lost composure. The opponent stole the ball, passed quickly to a teammate on the right, and tapped it in past Willies.

"Damn, not again, why do I keep conceding goals!" Willies Shouted, as he punched the ground.

"Come on, Willies, try to save a ball one of these days," Coach Anderson muttered, stomping the ground.

Jaden turned his head and he saw Wirtz laughing.

"Where did that come from? The momentum shifted in a flash," Decent said.

"What a match we have here. I thought the Nobles would dominate easily, but they're struggling against the Pirates' second team," Shakes added.

"Like I said in the press conference the other day. I know Jaden's weaknesses, this kid has no idea how tough it is to be a manager. This isn't a game, I fought to be here, I will show him what true genius is," Wirtz thought.
