"We're in the 30th minute of the match, and it has been an explosive start. Nobles have managed six shots on target from ten attempts," Decent commented.
"Their striker is having a bad day in front of goal. Despite scoring the opener, he's missed sitters since then. At this stage, it's completely unacceptable," Shakes added.
"Max has been closed down every time he gets the ball. Hard tackles are exploiting his weaknesses," Decent noted.
"As for Ramothwala, he's been quiet. Three defenders swarm him whenever he tries to dribble," Shakes said.
Nobles passed the ball around at the back, steadily building play, while the Caribbean Pirates continued to press high.
A quick ball found Sarr, who dummied and left it for Hernandez. Who carried the ball through midfield, Hernandez spotted Happy who had made a run on the right. With the outside of his right foot, he sent a cutting through ball into space. Happy ran onto it, rough first touch but kept possession.
The opposition right-back tried to catch up, but Happy Khosa was too fast. He sprinted to the byline and cut the ball back.
It fell to Sarr, who had made a box-to-box run. He shot with power, sending the ball past the goalkeeper's right side, who never saw it coming.
"Gooooooal! What a rocket!" Decent shouted.
"An explosive finish from a player who rarely scores. What a powerful strike," Shakes said.
Jaden applauded. "Wow, that's a first. I've never seen you applaud one of our players," Anna teased.
"It's because he surpassed my expectations. I never imagined him scoring. Sarr is improving, he's becoming an excellent box to box midfielder," Jaden replied, eyes fixed on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Ramsey sat alone at the far end of the bench, arms folded, lost in thought.
"I know it's my fault. My behavior got me here. But I'm trying to be a better person, a better player, a better husband. If it weren't for my wife and daughter, I wouldn't be here right now. I would've rebelled against the team and drowned my problems in drink. But they didn't give up on me. I've put my wife through so much, yet she forgave me. Now she and my daughter are here in the stadium, supporting the team, even though I told them the coach wouldn't play me."
Half-time arrives. "It's 2–1," Shakes announced.
Nobles are leading, but it was expected. They're up against the Caribbean's second team.
Players, staff, and officials head into the tunnel.
In the Pirates' dressing room, Manager Wirtz addressed his squad: "You played well against their first team. You showed them the strength of the Caribbean Pirates! But now it's time to change gears. Gremorè, Noah, Njabulo, you're coming on for the second half."
In the second
As the referee's board lit up, Anna muttered, "This means trouble. That's the league's top trio, their combined stats are off the charts."
Jaden stared at them. "So he's decided to take us seriously."
"What's this? Manager Wirtz is using all five subs," Shakes said.
The second half began. The Pirates dominated possession, exchanging short passes and forced Nobles back. The ball reached Gremorè, who had dropped deep from his No.9 role.
"So he's a deep-lying forward," Jaden thought.
Gremorè lofted a smooth pass to Njabulo on the right. Njabulo controled perfectly, cut inside, and waited for Gremorè's arrival. He laid it off left, Gremorè feinted to the left, fooling both defenders and the goalkeeper, then shifted right and scored.
"It's an equalizing goaaaaal!" Decent exclaimed.
"If I were a Nobles defender or goalkeeper, I wouldn't dare watch the highlights after this. My word, what a fake," Shakes said.
By the 60th minute, the Pirates were in full control. Noah dribbled down the left, reached the byline, and he cut the ball back for Gremorè, who guided it smoothly into the bottom corner.
"It's 2–3! Oh my word, what a comeback!" Shakes shouted.
On the bench, Ramsey watches the celebrations when a teammate nudges him. "The coach is calling for you."
"Me? Did I do something wrong?" Ramsey asked, perplexed. He stood and approached Jaden.
"Coach?" Ramsey said.
"Get warmed up. You're going in," Jaden replied.
Anna and Coach Anderson looked stunned.
"…I'm going in?" Ramsey asked in disbelief.
"Listen, I'm sorry it had to be this way. Ever since your suspension was lifted, I let everyone think there was tension, that I didn't like you. That way, no one expected me to play you, especially Wirtz. He probably hasn't planned for you. By subbing you in now, I'll catch him off guard. With your talent, you'll change the match instantly. Everything up to this point has been part of my plan. You're a greedy player, and I don't want you to change that. An egoist is exactly what I need right now. I apologize for using you as a pawn in my strategy." Jaden explained.
Anna muttered in shock, "What? This was his plan?"
Coach Anderson thought, "Never have I met a manager like this kid. Every day he surprises me, he's on another level."
Jaden gripped Ramsey's shoulder. "Be yourself, Ramsey, you bastard!"
Ramsey, still in disbelief but relieved, went to warm up. Nobody noticed, everyone's eyes were locked on the high intensity match.
Then everything changed. His number appeared on the official's board. The stadium erupted. Players stopped mid-action to watch him enter.
In the VIP section, Ramsey's wife and daughter were filled with joy as they watched him come on.
Mr Tau stood up and applauded "So all this time, he was acting, I knew something wasn't adding up...I might have not known him for long but the kid doesn't hold grudges. He planned everything, now I know the team is about to make a spectacular come back," he muttered.
"What? Ramsey? How is this possible? He's subbing him in!" Wirtz exclaimed, stunned, as Ramsey stepped onto the field.
"Well, well, well… look who's back. It's been a minute," Ramsey said, flashing a sinister grin.
