Veronica's POV
Rollings House
I was in my study when Joshua came and told me the River representative came and was talking to dad.
As I walked inside the living room, I noticed the representative wasn't holding a normal folder.
"I sent you a message yesterday,"
"The old houses are legally demanding to either show them their assets are safe, or pay back the value of those assets."
"This has now become a legal matter."
I could see Jonathan's face tense up as I realized how much pressure he was in.
"How much of this is my responsibility as the River heir?" Jonathan asked.
"Well, the vault has not only kept safe the River inheritance, but those of the prominent jewelry houses of the times as well.
"After your mother's pregnancy, the vault was moved to the Rollings House,"
"And all assets are guarded under the River treaty."
"For generations, the houses trusted the River family, and still do."
I exhaled as I understood the implication of things.
