"i look pretty!" ayame exclaimed, grinning like a child who just got his favorite candy.
Everyone burst into laughter.
"you look ridiculous!" i said while shaking my head.
She let out a dramatic gasp of betrayal and placed her both hands over her heart. "no, i am not!"
"yes you do!"
Akemi was giggling as well. "she may look ridiculous right now, but she'll look pretty after shower"
Ayame gasped again "you too?!"
Akemi smiled innocently "but that's true!"
Ayame pouted and sat on the couch playfully.
I turned my gaze towards yumi... And my heart skipped a beat.
She is smiling... Not laughing but... Her lips are curved up in a way i have never seen before...
Ayame broke the silence "admiring my work?" i snapped my head back to her, Now out of my little bubble trying to steady composed. "yeah, you can become a hairstylist for real at this rate one day"
Akemi smiled, lowering herself on the couch beside ayame. "her eyes are beautiful... No?"
I looked at yumi again...then nodded after a moment without taking my eyes off her "yeah..."
Ayame gave a sigh, resting her elbows on her thighs. "but she doesn't speak much... Why? "
Yumi gulped but stayed quiet for a moment then looked up at the clock, and the color visibly drained from her face. "i-i have to go..." she said, grabbing her bag.
I frowned, "what happened?" i asked softly.
"i-i told my aunt I'll be home after twenty minutes but it's already been thirty" she said, brushing her dress and Fixing her hairs.
"so what? It's just ten minutes..."
She gulped, pulling the strap of her bag slung on her shoulder. "i have to go..." her voice was so tiny it almost got dissolved in air.
I looked at her, then nodded "okay then, I'll walk you"
She stiffened up "n-no...I'll go on my own"
I noticed the way her body stiffened up. "are you... Sure?"
She nodded frantically, then stepped out but not before thinking ayame Akemi and looking in my eyes... Then disappeared down the stairs.
