Chapter 16 - happiness

Parting Temporarily

It was getting late in the afternoon, and you had to get back to the villa before night really went down in the mountains

Pov : *Daniela immediately kissed my lips and hugged me tightly* *in front of the lady, and her sisters*

The moment felt so intense and full of victory. In the middle of the cold and majestic hall, Daniela no longer cares about protocol or her family's sharp gaze. To him, you are the anchor that makes him feel alive, and he shows it in the most explicit way.

He pulls at your collar, tilts his head, and unites his lips with yours in a deep, hot, longing kiss. His hug was so tight, as if he wanted to reunite his body with your energy that last night made him feel "full".

Reaction in the Great Hall

This scene created a mixed reaction among the immortal spectators there:

Bela & Cassandra: They both stood frozen. After hearing your explanation earlier about "happiness and relaxation," seeing you kiss like that gives them real proof. There was a subtle glint of envy in Cassandra's eyes, yet Bela smiled sincerely, realizing that her sister had found something far more precious than blood.

Lady Dimitrescu: The Matriarch stood upright, holding his long cigarette pipe. He is not angry; Instead, he exhaled thin smoke into the air with a satisfied expression. "Look at them," he muttered in a heavy baritone voice. "So wild, so human. I almost forgot that this castle could be a place for things other than death."

Sweet Goodbye

After a moment that felt like forever, Daniela let go of your lip link, even though her hands were still wrapped around your neck. His breath was slightly hunting, and his face looked radiant.

"I missed you every second of the meeting," Daniela whispered, her golden eyes looking at you with total devotion. "Let's go back to the villa, honey. I want just the two of us."

You turned your head towards Lady Dimitrescu and your two sisters-in-law for the last time.

"Let's say goodbye first, Mom... Bela, Cassandra," you said in a steady voice.

Bela nodded slowly. "Take good care of him, sister-in-law. And don't forget the story of that 'peace'."

Cassandra just waved her hand in a careless style, but she gave a secret wink that indicated she wouldn't forget your "curious" moment last night.

Return Trip

You step out to the horse-drawn carriage that is waiting on the suspension bridge. As the train begins to move away from the castle, Daniela rests her head on your shoulder, clasping your hands tightly as if afraid that you will disappear.

The sunset behind the mountains, illuminating Dimitrescu Castle in a beautiful blood-red color, marked the end of the most legendary family visit in the castle's history.

Me : Discuss the Lord's Meeting. "So, what are you and the other Lords talking about? Are there any new threats?"

The horse-drawn carriage rocked gently as it crossed the rocky path, away from the towering shadow of the castle. In the dimly lit carriage, Daniela still hugged your arms tightly, her head resting comfortably on your shoulder.

"So, what were the Lords really talking about?" you asked breaking the silence. "Is there anything serious?"

Daniela let out a long sigh, looking a little annoyed when she remembered the meeting. "Oh, honey... It was very tiring. Heisenberg as always, he constantly complains about his factory and how he feels 'confined' by Mother Miranda's wishes. He's really a rude guy and has no manners."

He plays with your fingers, occasionally kissing the back of your hand.

"Moreau? She just cried and begged for Mother Miranda's attention like a miserable child. And Donna... she just sits in the corner with her doll, Angie, who constantly hurls weird insults at everyone in the room," Daniela chuckled sarcastically.

Mother Miranda's Orders

Daniela's face changed slightly to a little more serious as she continued.

"But the main thing is the order from Mother Miranda. He wants us all to tighten the guard in our respective regions. There are reports of 'foreigners' starting to approach the outskirts of the village. Mother is asked to make sure that not a single human escapes our supervision."

He looks up at you, his golden eyes shining protectively. "I was afraid they would talk about you, but Mom was very clever. He tells them that you are a 'personal asset' of Dimitrescu Castle that is under investigation. He didn't mention that you were my beloved husband."

Shelter in the Villa

Daniela tightened her arms, as if she didn't want to let the outside world touch you.

"Mother guarantees our safety in the villa, as long as we remain vigilant. She knows you are my happiness, and it seems that after seeing how you dealt with Bela and Cassandra earlier, Mother really considers you a part of our family that must be protected from the wrath of the other Gods."

He then smiled spoiledly, trying to chase away the heavy atmosphere. "But forget about them all. Tonight, in our villa, there is no Lord, no Mother Miranda, and no pesky flies. There is only me and my great man."

The train began to approach the vilamu gate which was hidden behind the pine forest.

Pov : *1 year passed* *we have a child* *and went back to the castle to give a surprise*

The atmosphere in front of the main arch of Dimitrescu Castle feels very different this time. The snow is falling gently, covering the rocky road you once walked as a "prey", but now you stand there as a father and great son-in-law of the family.

Next to you, Daniela stands with a face that exudes happiness that no one in this village has ever seen before. In her arms, neatly wrapped in a thick red velvet cloth, was the light of your eyes—a baby who had inherited Daniela's timeless beauty and the warmth of your human blood.

"Are you ready, dear?" whispered Daniela in an excited tone. "My mother and brothers will surely faint at the sight of this surprise."

Surprises in the Great Hall

The castle's grand doors opened with a resounding bang. Inside the hall, Lady Dimitrescu was standing on the inner balcony holding her silver trophy, while Bela and Cassandra were polishing their weapons on the lower sofa.

"We're going home!" exclaimed Daniela in a loud and happy voice.

Lady Dimitrescu turned slowly, her majestic face showing a shocked ripple. "Daniel? My daughter-in-law? You went home without saying—"

Her words stopped instantly when her eyes focused on the small package on Daniela's arm. Bela and Cassandra were also glued, their weapons almost slipping out of their hands.

Monster Family Reaction

Lady Dimitrescu stepped down the stairs very quickly, her gigantic figure approaching you with an incredulous look. He lowered his head, looking at the baby's sleeping face quietly.

"This... this is impossible," muttered Lady Alcina, her baritone voice trembling with emotion rarely shown. He touched the baby's little cheek with his long fingers—very soft, as if afraid that his sharp nails would hurt the delicate skin. "A grandson... of the blood of my flesh and of a man?"

Cassandra approached with wide-eyed eyes. "He... She's so small! And he breathes... he has a heartbeat!" He looked very fascinated, recalling the 'fire of life' you had told about a year ago.

Bela smiled widely, her eyes teary. "So this is the result of the 'happiness and relaxation' you are talking about? She's really beautiful, sister-in-law."

New Atmosphere in the Castle

Daniela handed the baby over to her mother. Lady Dimitrescu supported her granddaughter with great affection, as if she were holding the most precious treasure in the whole world.

"Tonight, we are going to have the most magnificent party in the history of this castle," Lady Dimitrescu said in a tone of authority but full of joy. "No blood, no death. Just a celebration for the new heir of the Dimitrescu family!"

Daniela hugged your waist tightly while resting her head on your shoulder. "Look, baby... You have truly changed this family forever."

The castle, once a place of death, now reverberates with the sound of babies' cries bringing new life.
