Chapter 30 - Familiar

He knew they would agree without hesitation. Informing them was only a matter of following diplomatic procedures. He couldn't arrange his forces in a foreign nation without approval, because the nobles could start a ruckus.

These nobles weren't shown in the movies except during grand celebrations. Perhaps it was also due to the theme of the shows being rated for children, so there was no need to do so.

He only realised how harsh politics were in this world after being introduced to the nobles' circle through the Sultan.

This was why Jafar needed a wish to become Agrabah's ruler. If Jafar had tried to seize power with only his own strength, he probably would have failed. It made him develop a certain level of respect for the Sultan, who had managed to maintain a prosperous kingdom like Agrabah well into old age.

Jafar might as well have been one of his only flaws in judgment, because if he had kept hiring others like him, he would have died a long time ago, or lost the kingdom from under his grasp.

Fortunately, his empire's nobles weren't like that. They all loved him and were anticipating seeing him inherit the throne and lead the empire.

"What is it?" Aladdin sighed tiredly, realising that Rakim still had something to say.

"I was wondering the decision you and Princess Jasmine had made concerning the restoration of the Imperial Lineage," Rakim asked, his head bowed down, intentionally avoiding Aladdin's gaze.

Aladdin was silent.

"Rakim?"

"Yes. Your Highness."

"I'll give you an answer whenever I decide to. Don't ask me such a question again," Aladdin responded calmly.

"I understand," Rakim nodded, "I'll be taking my leave."

He turned around and walked out of the room.

Two hours later, Aladdin completed his duties and exited the room. He walked through the hallways, quickly arriving at another door.

Two guards were stationed beside the door.

The moment they spotted Aladdin, they instantly bowed respectfully.

"Your Highness!"

Aladdin nodded and walked into the room.

The room was spacious and divided into two sections. In the first was a wide, fragrant bathhouse with attending servants. In the second was a massage room. Both rooms were connected by a short passageway, with a veranda at the edge, decorated with a miniature garden and a sitting area for enjoying fresh air and basking in the sun.

Entering the room led to the massage room first.

Aladdin immediately spotted a fat monkey lying face down on a small massage table, its body covered with a towel. A man and a woman stood on opposite sides of the table, massaging him.

The monkey was none other than Abu.

The moment Aladdin entered the room, they halted their actions and bowed respectfully.

Aladdin gestured for them to leave.

They bowed once more before gathering their things and walking out.

Abu purred with each movement of the masseuse's hands.

However, the movements suddenly stopped, causing him to frown.

He whined loudly but received no response.

As he opened his eyes, he screamed upon seeing an unknown figure standing in front of him, before suddenly stopping as he realised it was only Aladdin. He placed his hand on his chest as he breathed out in relief.

Abu pointed his finger at Aladdin and spoke with a sharp voice.

Aladdin dismissed his words. "I finally developed the best spell to make you my familiar. So, I came to try it out," he said, drawing his sleeves up his arms.

Abu slowly moved back while clutching his towel and spoke in a calm monkey voice.

"Come on. It won't hurt. I've tried it on ants, and they became powerful enough to crush rocks. Don't you want to become strong enough to fight Genie? This is your only chance. The faster you get the opportunity to catch up to Genie, the better. Otherwise, you'll simply grow older and end up with regrets for not trying," Aladdin said.

Abu wrapped the towel around his torso and folded his arms across his chest. Then, he looked away and uttered a few more words with an air of indifference.

"It's good that you no longer want to get back at Genie for bullying you. But I can't leave you like this. Come on, let's go," Aladdin said.

Instantly, both of them disappeared into thin air.

The small towel that had been wrapped around Abu slowly fell onto the table.

Outside the Imperial Palace,

Aladdin and Abu appeared within a corridor before vanishing once more and reappearing on the familiar Imperial Magic Court Library training grounds.

The Imperial Magic Court had several training grounds and even a colosseum open to the public, where magicians or sorcerers could battle or promising talents from the empire could come to showcase their magical prowess.

However, Aladdin liked this one the most because it was closer to the library, one of the places where all knowledge in the empire was kept.

Abu shouted at Aladdin while gesturing at him accusingly.

One of Aladdin's ten rings twisted, and a small princely attire, appearing to be tailor-made for Abu, appeared in his hand.

This was a spatial ring, one of the few magical artefacts that Aladdin had been developing using his memories from his former world. Although magical artefacts are known to appear naturally or are created by extremely powerful beings, there are also magical artefacts made by humans.

The condition is that they must be highly skilled in their craft and possess powerful magic, such as the legendary sorcerer, Khuriya, the maker of flying carpets or the creators of the Genie lamp.

It was out of reach for ordinary magicians or sorcerers to craft their own magical artefacts. That was why treasure hunting and grave robbing were very popular activities within the magical community.

Even Jafar had come across the snake staff by luck, which he used to increase his magical capabilities.

However, there were no such limitations for Aladdin. He initially learned how to craft magical artefacts and put them into practice, mastering the process within a few days.
