Zip!
The bullet sliced through the air in a gleaming arc, screaming toward Daredevil like a herald of impending death.
"!!!"
Daredevil felt the sudden chill creeping up his spine. Driven almost entirely by instinct, he quickly lowered Elektra to the ground and snapped his blind cane upward. He attempted to use it to intercept the lethal strike.
Clang! Clang!!
With a heavy thud, the bullet impacted the cane, the crisp echo vibrating through the ruins of the office. Matt's wrists were jarred to the point of numbness, a sharp pain radiating through his arms. Having just survived an explosion, he was already injured and far from his peak condition.
"Hmph!"
Seeing his ambush fail, Bullseye blurred out of the darkness. He closed the distance with wind-like speed.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
He drew various sharp weapons from his coat. Shurikens rained down on Daredevil like a relentless downpour, as if a merciless reaper were closing in. Every projectile followed an insidious trajectory, glinting with lethal intent. Daredevil was forced to exert every ounce of his remaining strength just to keep up.
But as his stamina waned and Bullseye's momentum grew, Matt began to fall into a desperate disadvantage. If this continued, death was a certainty.
Step, step!
Just then, an aged figure charged out of the gloom. His steps were firm and powerful—it was Stick, the mentor to both Daredevil and Elektra!
"You bastard, stop!!" Stick held his long staff, his weathered face masked with murderous intent.
"Damn it!"
Bullseye's expression shifted instantly. He hadn't accounted for Stick being a factor in this fight. Realizing he was now outnumbered, a vicious light flashed in his eyes. He suddenly pivoted his attack and threw a single bullet with all his might.
Zip!
The bullet tore through the air with a piercing whistle, aimed straight for Elektra. Slumped against the wall and gravely injured, Elektra had no way to react. The projectile pierced her chest instantly.
Blood spilled from the corner of her mouth. As her vitality ebbed away, her face turned as pale as parchment, looking as though she might slip away at any moment.
"What? NO!!!" Daredevil's eyes filled with horror and shock. He scrambled toward Elektra.
"Heh, she got what she deserved!" Bullseye sneered and turned to leave without a second glance. His cold voice drifted back through the air: "Daredevil, this is the price for crossing us. But next time, there won't be anyone left to die in your place!"
"..."
Daredevil cradled the dying Elektra, his face contorted in agony. Stick stood nearby, his expression grim. No matter how much rage burned within them, Elektra's death had become an unavoidable reality.
Tap, tap!
But then, the sound of footsteps echoed from the darkness. Stick instantly tensed as if facing a mortal foe. He raised his staff, staring warily into the shadows, expecting Bullseye to have returned.
But the person who stepped out of the dark was not Bullseye.
"Who are you?!" Stick demanded in a low, heavy voice.
He didn't take the newcomer seriously at all. He couldn't sense any aura of power from the man; he seemed like a mere civilian. Especially since the man was Asian, Stick's gaze held a touch of dismissive scorn.
"Daredevil, you wouldn't want to lose Elektra forever, would you?" Lin Feng spoke to himself, ignoring Stick entirely.
This caused the old man's eyes to turn cold. "Brat, this is no place for your nonsense! Get lost now, or you'll lose your life!"
Before Daredevil could even respond, Stick barked his warning, looking ready to strike the moment he was crossed.
"Noisy!!"
Lin Feng's cold gaze swept over him, his presence suddenly becoming overbearing. Dark energy surged as the wicked aura of the Shadow Mask radiated outward. With just that one look, Stick's face went through a massive transformation. It was as if he were staring at a primeval beast; he was so terrified that he instinctively recoiled several steps.
When he finally regained his senses, he felt a wave of immense humiliation. "Curse you! Kid, who the hell are you?!" Stick questioned, his voice now sounding shrill with forced bravado.
"Begone!"
Lin Feng spoke calmly, his words carrying the weight of an absolute decree. Shadow Ninjas materialized as if they were his very shadow.
BOOM!
An invisible force slammed into Stick like a physical blow, flipping him backward and pinning him to the ground. A spray of crimson blood erupted from his mouth. Before he could even offer a shred of resistance, the sudden turn of events had left him lying there like a dying dog.
"Master?!"
Only then did Daredevil snap out of his shock. Setting aside his grief for Elektra for a moment, he saw his mentor beaten to within an inch of his life and scrambled to his feet.
"Sir, I'm sure there's been a misunderstanding," Daredevil said, trying to de-escalate the tension.
"A misunderstanding? Perhaps." Lin Feng shrugged noncommittally. He looked at Daredevil calmly. "You don't want Elektra to die for good, do you? What if I told you I could resurrect her?"
"Resurrect her?!" Daredevil's frame shuddered in disbelief. He shook his head helplessly. "Sir, please don't joke with me! 'What is dead cannot return'—isn't that a famous saying from your country? Resurrection... it's simply not scientific."
"Scientific? How about this, then!"
Lin Feng chuckled. With a single thought, the darkness became his servant. A howling gale swept through the area, lifting Lin Feng slowly into the air as the surrounding shadows twisted into writhing tentacles. One by one, Shadow Ninjas crawled out of the darkness, their forms contorted as they emerged.
They knelt in unison at Lin Feng's feet.
"!!!"
Seeing this, Daredevil was utterly dumbfounded.
