Aria's POV
Aldric's office was on the third floor, right at the corner of the building. It was the kind of office that felt old, powerful, and permanent. Everything about it said one thing clearly: I have been here for a very long time, and I am not going anywhere.
When we arrived at the building, Zayn was already waiting for us at the entrance. He looked terrible. His eyes were red, his face was tight, and it was obvious he hadn't slept. He looked like someone who had been running on anger alone since yesterday.
Without saying hello or wasting any time, he handed me a key card.
"Security gave me back my access about an hour ago," he said quickly. "Jin filed for an emergency freeze, so everything is locked legally now. Nadia's people are still upstairs on the fourth floor, but they can't touch anything because of the investigation." He paused, then added, "They're not happy about it."
"Good," I said calmly as I took the card from him.
