His brows furrowed deeply as he changed direction and walked straight toward him.
Mikhail remained calm on the surface, though he felt a slight tension rise in his chest.
'The fuck did I do now?' He held back a tired sigh. 'Did they get to know about my crimes before it even happened?'
"You…" Corvin stopped a few steps away, studying Mikhail with narrowed eyes. "Mikhail Brightburn, correct?"
Mikhail gave a small, respectful nod. "Yes, sir."
Corvin's young partner stood silently behind him, observing the exchange.
The older enforcer crossed his arms, his wrinkled face stern. "I remember you from Jonathan's case."
Jonathan was the informant who had died in the same shop where Mikhail had been waiting for Kevin.
Enforcer Corvin had gotten Mikhail's information from that case.
"Has the case been solved?" Mikhail asked with a respectful smile. "I still get nightmares from what I saw that day."
